15....

....new cards?....LOL?....oO

ZXtheD (guest) - 2010/11/26 10:42

15 new cards...beast. This is great, but I hope they release 5 new synchros, and some of them accels and tuners.
Stardust (guest) - 2010/11/26 10:51

unfortunately we're going to get only 3 Synchros. The deck has 43 cards, 40 goes to the main deck, that leave us with 3 for the extra deck....

so probably 1 is a normal Synchro, 1 is a Synchro Tuner, and the last one is an Accel Synchro.
ZXtheD (guest) - 2010/11/26 11:01

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Well here's hoping that 2 of the synchros go to the accel mechanic, and that the cards are actually strong, even imbal.
Mattwo (guest) - 2010/12/28 17:40

Accel mechanic?

ALL synchros can use that can't they? Only certain ones REQUIRE it...
Fob4eva - 2011/03/03 04:54

NO SYNCHROS

They're focusing on their new anime, Yugioh ZeXal. Exceed SUmmoning FTW
LFN (guest) - 2010/11/26 09:06

15 new cards! Excellent. Hopefully they won't all be Yusei cards that we see usage of in one episode... and never again.

Stardust (guest) - 2010/11/26 10:48

IMHO they should start releasing starter decks where ALL of the cards are new.

or at least 30 of them are.

ZXtheD (guest) - 2010/11/26 11:02

Here's hoping.
Someone (guest) - 2010/11/26 13:49

Yusei is the most imba main character , 3 Starter deck not enough , he wan 1 more lols =D

DarkDragonphoenix (guest) - 2010/11/26 16:52

LOOL

Well, I don't think that any new Yusei Synchro be there, because:

Yusei's Extra Deck:
1x Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste
1x Formula Synchron
1x Armory Arm
1x Junk Warrior
1x Junk Gardna
1x Drill Warrior
1x Turbo Warrior
1x Junk Archer
1x Nitro Warrior
1x Stardust Dragon
1x Junk Destroyer
1x Road Warrior
1x Junk Berserker
1x Shooting Star Dragon
1x Majestic Star Dragon

these are 15; if they don't break the 15-Cards-Extra-Deck, Yusei now showed all his Synchros + a Fusion, only evulution for Stardust left'd be a Ritual Monster...

So I personally think the 15 new cards are just some rnd. trash...
exept 1-2 broken cards, and I expect the 3 Synchros to be:
-Junk Warrior (as always)
-Junk Gardna (never been released)
-Stardust Dragon as Common xD (meaning only 2 rares left for Stardust are Rare and Parallel; thus expecting Stardust as a HL08 promo and as a R-Version in yet another Yusei duelist pack...)

so...a good Deck for beginners...but nothing really new for experienced players.

RedEyesFan - 2010/11/26 17:17

>implying that Dragonequites is a upgraded Stardust....

go work on your darn maths
QuincyMcCoy (guest) - 2010/11/26 20:57

Hmmm....

Yes he now has the maximum amount of synchros and fusions, but it is the anime, so the extra deck limit means nothing. Also, this is not confirmed as a Yusei deck (still hoping it isn't), so they can do something new that is very different from expectations... Maybe, (I'm looking at you Konami) they finally release an Akiza structure deck. The 15 new cards could come from all of the spells or traps that she used during the 1st season from the anime because they sure did not release all of them. Also, they need a way to promote and reprint many strong plant cards, and this could be it.

On the other hand, since it says it works with the latest anime expansions, this could be devoted to Bruno and the Tech Genius archtype. It is an Accel Synchro deck, has 3 Sychros, and can be expanded through new cards into a respectable archtype.

But that is just speculation, like all else is at the release of new info...
MasterSephiroth - 2010/11/26 21:59

...yeah

...and then, who says, that yusei really all synchros every day has in his extra deck?

Btw...pronounce on english: Yugi Yusei Judai...
ScionoftheFlames (guest) - 2010/11/26 22:46

I thought Yusei rebuilt his deck for the WRGPX. So not all those cards are in his deck currently. He has only shown to use 11 in his extra deck riding duel deck since season 2 began. And 4 in the ground version of his deck.
DarkDragonphoenix (guest) - 2010/11/27 13:14

@RedEyesFan

I saw you write so much damn bullsh**

there are 15 monsters, and Draco Equites is an Upgraded stardust, go work on your damn anime skills...

but yes, I also expect some new Yusei stuff, like a LV10 Junkie, Hyper Warrior, Change Warrior, Brio(?) Warrior and a Water Warrior...but no more upgraded stardust crap...please!!
ZXtheD (guest) - 2010/11/27 17:55

Dude, it's not an upgraded stardust. It's just a fusion that requires a dragon, ANY dragon synchro. By going with your logic we can say that it's an upgrade for every dragon synchro.
RedEyesFan - 2010/11/30 13:50

wow,DDP has logic?

i dont get how Savior Star Dragon is in Yusei Extra deck in the anime when the required tuner only appears from out of nowhere...

please,
do work on your darn maths and anime skill
ZXtheD (guest) - 2010/11/30 18:54

No he doesn't have logic. That's the point.
GX-Kai (guest) - 2010/12/05 03:47

Well, I think Junk Gardna is non-canon, and Savior Star Dragon (in the anime) doesn't exist in his Extra Deck in normal conditions, because it arrives by the power of Crimson Dragon. So yeah I think Yusei have space for 2 more synchros now xD
xtariqx (guest) - 2011/01/08 18:40

i think Synchros will be:
-Junk Gardna
-Majestic Star Dragon/Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste
-Stardust Dragon/Junk Warrior
Or
-Stardust Dragon
-Formula Synchron
-Shooting Star Dragon/Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste
DUR (guest) - 2011/02/16 23:49

This isn't 5D's

You guys don't understand, this is the first deck to contain Zexal cards, meaning we most likely will be seeing exceed monsters and support in it, not synchros and not things from 5D's aka 6D's. The cards that aren't new are just going to be cards that make the deck playable for beginners like marauding captain or some other descent cards that flow well with the exceed theme and swarming, as well as staples or other staple like cards like dust tornado, kthxbai.
masquerade (guest) - 2010/11/27 18:03

Anime...

The anime appears like it will be ending about then, so it's possible that this will not be based around Yusei, and instead a preview into another series...

ZXtheD (guest) - 2010/11/28 00:59

I'm not sure how anyone can say this series is ending so soon, after 2 seasons.
masquerade (guest) - 2010/12/06 17:07

yeah but this opening was confirmed to be the last one...

Unless they want to do another season without changing the opening...and if you've been following the plot, they kinda can't (at least they shouldn't) go further. Yliaster's been behind everything from the start, so this'd be a perfect ending.
Lask (guest) - 2010/11/27 18:54

no new series after this?

Just Saying, Kazuki Takahashi said that there's not going to be another YGO series after 5D's

Rex (guest) - 2010/11/27 19:07

hmmm

Well yes he say it. But if i remember good he say the same at GX.
I don't think he make a another sereies but i hope he made it. Or make a Ova Series like : - Yugis life after the Pharao is gone
- Or Judai After the school
masquerade (guest) - 2010/12/06 17:05

Yeah, he said in an interview after that that 5ds was only the beginning...whether that means another anime, I'm not sure, but GX was supposed to be the last and it wasn't. Another Yugioh series is not out of the question...
DarkDragonphoenix (guest) - 2010/11/28 13:54

Well, Draco Equites of course is an upgrade for every synchro dragon, BUT as Yusei used stardust to summon it, it's quite logic that draco equites actually IS one of stardust, and also: does it matter?!

about 5D's beeing the last season:
so, how is kazuki going to publish new sets, without the kiddies watching the series?

I think there definately be more series, because that's where most of the cool cards come from (malicious+ddraw, quickdraw, debris, drill warrior, stardust, black rose, even monster reborn...)

masquerade (guest) - 2010/12/06 17:08

yeah, I don't think 5Ds is the end...as long as its successful, it's likely to keep going...
ManGuy (guest) - 2010/12/13 16:49

Yugioh Zexal

I guess this deck will introduce the new summoning mechanic after synchroes...wonder what that will be O_o

Great Shogun Shine - 2010/12/14 03:06

Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal

I bet that this starter deck will have the 15 new cards from that Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal anime that I've been hearing about.

Y2KYugi (guest) - 2010/12/15 23:00

Very likely to be Zexal cards

Yeah, this isn't a starter deck related to Yusei or 5D anymore...

This is a new starter deck under the Yugioh Zexal title.
More like a Yuma deck.

EXCEED SUMMON TIME!!!
demolisty (guest) - 2010/12/29 01:41

maybe it's not revolving yuigoh 5d's

This starter deck myabe revolving around yugioh zexal the new yugioh season

MasterSephiroth - 2011/01/19 07:58

Please dear....god

If there is any god...let's call him Konami...please let Excess Monster be in the Main Deck o________O
Ghost (guest) - 2011/01/20 16:11

This is for the new series, there will be those new excess monsters in the deck and probably one new synchro. It's not 5d's related.

Tsuna (guest) - 2011/01/21 01:32

Doubt it

43 Cards and 5D's will still be in the most recent sets. Considering that its already been said that this started will be made to work with recent expansions, there will be nothing from Zexal just yet. Also there is nothing to confirm that Exceed Summoning will be introduced into the OCG/TCG and honestly they do not need to added to the game considering that everything about the mechanic is so incredibly broken that its not funny.
Stardust (guest) - 2011/02/16 09:04

OH LOL

- Black-coloured card
- Is in the Extra Deck
- "Level" extending from the left side of the card

DARK SYNCHRO xD

Destruc (guest) - 2011/03/01 23:37

not levels

the stars on exceed monsters are not level but a ranking. exceeds do not have levels and are unaffected by cards like gravity bind that state an effect based on a level. and it is not five ds but a new series there is a pre order for the deck on toywiz.com
Crimson Samurai (guest) - 2011/02/16 09:40

Wow

These new Exceed monsters are alot easier to summon then synchro monsters. =P

EwokNinja (guest) - 2011/02/16 19:14

I know what you mean unlike synchro's these could be put into any deck that doesnt focus on synchros or exceeds heck I could use them in my gravekeeper deck if I wanted to. I was thinking though since these monsters have a Rank which is the same as the level of the monsters required to summon it. Imagine how hard it would be to summon a Rank 12 exceed monster.
Kowalski (guest) - 2011/02/16 15:41

Images

We have images of 5 cards from the starter. Gosh, Exceeds look badass XD

no no no no konami
blue level outline not red

J4B0i - 2011/02/16 18:02

Looks like #1, 5, 41, 23, and 32

Mahado (guest) - 2011/02/16 18:09

again the magic number 2500 ATK like DM, neos and stardust.

HalfDemonInuyasha - 2011/02/16 19:35

reply

Except UNLIKE them, it's a low "rank" (4). Though it still requires 2 Level 4 monsters to be brought out, so I guess it's an "equivalent" of a Level 8.

Anyway, Exceeds are looking fairly promising now. At least they don't SEEM as stupidly easy as the early Synchros and all, but still easy overall.
OMGulator - 2011/02/16 20:04

(post removed)

Captain Obvious (guest) - 2011/02/16 20:32

NO

That's both a horrible and stupid idea...
OMGulator - 2011/02/16 21:30

It was more of a hope than an idea.
Start Simulating (guest) - 2011/02/16 21:30

Again

No. Ex:

2xKizan = 3100 ATK
1xFossil Dyno + 1xRai-Oh = LOCK DOWN
1xHorus Lv.8 + 1xD-Hero Plasma = LOCK DOWN
etc.
OMGulator - 2011/02/16 21:37

Darn it. I guess I didn't look hard enough...
SynjoDeonecros (guest) - 2011/02/16 22:22

Huh, the Exceed monsters look interesting, but I have a few questions:

1. Having them with a Rank instead of a Level. How would that impact cards that require Levels to work, like Rituals/Synchros and the like?

2. I'm assuming that the Exceed Materials are sent to the graveyard along with the Exceed Monster when it's destroyed by battle/a card effect that isn't its own. At least, I hope so.

3. If I'm reading Aspiring King Hope's Exceed monsters and effect, it looks like it can only negate 2 attacks, so I'm assuming there's not any way of "refreshing" it's supply of Materials after it's summoned, unless a card effect is made that re-overlays a Material that's sent to the graveyard under the Exceed Monster. Also, I hope that it's not going to be just 2 monsters of the same level that you can use for all Exceed monsters (though I am glad that I was right that the "Rank" of the Exceed monster has to match the level of the individual Materials, and not the combined Level like people on the Yugioh WIki thought).

4. Does anyone get a Dark Synchro vibe from the Exceed monsters? Black border, monster "level/Rank" on the left side instead of the right.

Zerei (guest) - 2011/02/17 03:11

Agreed

I agree with you in all points. But, concerning the first point that you stated:

I think that the most rational decision would make that the "rank" would work just like "level". Exceed summoning is much more to combination than "sum" if it sounds clear. Think about it: A Rank 12 exceed summon is much more plausible than a rank 24 summon (Hey, there's no lvl 24!). Can you understand my statement people?

That makes the rulings simplier. Now, IMO, exceed summons tend to be MUCH more Dynamic and strategic than Synchro summoning. Its a good addon to the actual gameplay, wich consists in monsters that special summon other monsters, cards that search, cards that negates, and cards that destroy. Exceed summoning could use more different effects, like: Once per turn you cans send one overlay unit to the graveyard and deal take control of one of your oponent's monster whose level is equal to that monster's level. Or... You can send one overlay unit to the grave and increase the level of a face up monster you control UP to the level of the sent monster (making a good synergy with syncrhos), or even better: Excees summon rank 6, requiring 2 monarchs. Once per turn you can send one overlay unit to the grave and activate it's effect. You cannot normal summon the turn you activated this effect. If this card is destroyed, you can discard one card from your hand to add 1 Monarch monster from your deck to your hand.

There's so much to think about them. I'm excited about excess summon. Just pay attention here, I focused myself into "sending overlay units" we could do MUCH more, like, a exceed monster with the porpouse only to protect the overlay units (wich still works like any monsters).
Brandon (guest) - 2011/02/25 22:19

Exceed Summoning

You need 2 or more level x monsters that are the same level as rank of the exceed monster. The exceed monsters require you to send underlayed monsters to the grave to activate certain card effects at certain times. They are unaffected by cards that affect level ( Burden of the Mighty) and don't affect levels themselves. They have semi-broken to broken effects wich can only be used up to how many sources you have left to discard to use them. Pretty simple right?
LCDS (guest) - 2011/07/06 12:25

the Exceeds arent affected by cards that require monsters with levels since they are ranked.... Number monster exceeds (ex. No.19 UTOPIA) cant be destroyed by non number monsters.... damage still is counted.... all in all..... exceeds are badass but need a good strategy in return too....
kriminal myndz (guest) - 2011/02/16 22:55

stardust is legendary

if this aspiring king hope is the main characters signature monster its right up there with neos and dark magician as being utter nonsense
unlike stardust dragon however which is awesome and is a staple synchro

or i could be wrong and this is his version of junk warrior because junk warrior was the ultra in the first 5d's structure deck, then in that case its awesome compared to junk warrior this means his signature exceed will rival or might even be better than stardust

ZXtheD (guest) - 2011/02/17 03:02

What are you talking about? Hope is good card imo. He can negate up to 2 attacks by himself. He's kind of like a beatstick with a necro gardna effect that can activate 2 times.
GreenShirT (guest) - 2011/02/16 23:26

I hope that is a lie because it sounds terrible. So many rulings would need changing too...

hello (guest) - 2011/02/17 01:59

rank? level?

i can't wait for the rulings on levels for exceed monsters, because it's so confusing me. for instance, what happens if someone activates "burden of the mighty"? also, "no.39 - aspiring king hope" seems pretty strong for a rank 4. how are you supposed to look at it? i mean it does have self-destructing effect like most monsters with more than 2000ATK, but it's optional.

hello (guest) - 2011/02/17 02:01

missing

like most "level 4" monsters
exceed (guest) - 2011/02/17 02:35

Black cards

i like the fact that they are colored black, i would like to see a purple white and black extra deck

arcana force 1 the magician - 2011/02/17 03:25

Synchros will always be better than exceed. Plus delta acell synchro is awsome!!!

k (guest) - 2011/02/17 04:22

But hard as **** to get out.
HalfDemonInuyasha - 2011/02/17 05:22

reply

Depends on what comes out later for Exceeds, given they always go back to the "basics" with each new background usually.

From my standpoint, depending on what comes out later, Exceeds don't feel much different from Synchros (the Dark Synchro-like background doesn't help).

Rather than Tuners and non-Tuners with a combined Level, you need monsters with the exact same Levels as the Rank of the Exceed Monster (again, depending on what comes out later, there will probably be more specific requirements and whatnot) and rather than sending them to the Graveyard, you stack them underneath the Exceed Monster along with releasing monsters that take advantage of it, much like those with being Synchro Material Monsters.

Really, at least with Revise Dragon and Hope, 2 Level 3s or 2 Level 4s respectively; very easy to do.

And, as said, Delta Accel Synchro is tricky...needing a Synchro Tuner and 2+ non-Tuner Synchro Monsters...
Zero Jones (guest) - 2011/02/18 03:16

Did you hear that?

That was the bell and it tolls for YUGIOH
no dark synchros(good idea)
exceed summons ( just plain stoopid)

Abdizur (guest) - 2011/02/18 09:08

Ranking vs Level

and yet again konami make a decision without thinking through all the angles...... these exxced monsters arent leveled they are ranked....so how are they affected by cards like gravity bind. level limit area b and other suck level related cards?

renders (guest) - 2011/02/18 11:28

konami

stop making stupid acusations on konami, the cards aren't out yet,we don't know their plans yet, they might trat rank as level
Abdizur (guest) - 2011/02/18 18:45

Konami

how is that a stupid accusation? If ranks were going to be treated as levels, they would call it levels. which means they are unaffected by level orientated cards and they cant be used for rituals or synchro summons. a stupid accusation would be to blame konami for my house burning down or other trivial things like that.
Mehk (guest) - 2011/02/19 01:10

Hmm...

Have you ever heard of something as errata? They could change all cards concerning your issue to include level (or some cards not). Maybe they could also say "For all intents and purposes an Exceed monster's rank is also its considered level."

Basically, we don't know Konami's plan as of yet. I'm sure they understand your insecurities as this is a very important issue.

Just wait.

Danieru just informed me via WLM that Exceed Monsters DO NOT have Levels and effects and other things that pertain to Levels DO NOT APPLY TO THEM. (Synchros, Rituals, Level-changers, Level-checkers, etc.)

Whether Tokens can be used as Exceed Material Monsters or not is still unknown.
Scion of the Flames (guest) - 2011/02/20 03:22

Exceed No. (?)

Does anyone know what the Exceed numbering is supposed to be about? Does AKH suggest there are at least 39 special Exceed monsters? Revise Dragon apparently being No. 17.

HalfDemonInuyasha - 2011/02/20 04:26

reply

Unknown. Will most likely be revealed in the anime and/or manga.
rakashun (guest) - 2011/02/22 17:03

I've been following the manga and I think the numbers might be a theme cause not all exceed monsters have them.
HalfDemonInuyasha - 2011/02/23 03:37

reply

Well, of course it's a "theme", but WHAT the purpose is for is still unknown as it's most likely pointing towards something bigger. Similar to the Signer Dragons of the 5D's anime, and the GX manga's Planet Series and such.
mr.d (guest) - 2011/02/25 11:59

numbers archtype!

There will be 99 monsters with a number mark on their bodies somewhere representing the No. in their name. They say this archtype will be the biggest of blackwings, elemental hero, and six samurai. They will have powerful spells and traps that will put their opponents .bad situations.
HalfDemonInuyasha - 2011/02/27 03:26

reply

And where exactly did you find that information?
dvisidor (guest) - 2011/08/01 20:45

Dvisidor

1st of there are 99 Number monsters and the one your talking about is not AKH but is Number.39: Utopia
perfectflare (guest) - 2011/03/01 19:33

facedown

wow... i just noticed that if...
-flipping the exceed monster facedown also flips the material monsters

if that is true isnt there a card that shuffles the orders of facedown cards (unless im wrong) since its illegal to do that without any card effects

so it would make that "rule" obsolete?
well, unless they rule that we have to put it aside until its flipped face up or something...

HalfDemonInuyasha - 2011/03/02 00:28

reply

Shifting Shadows is what you're thinking of...

Shifting Shadows
Continuous Magic
Once per turn, by paying 300 Life Points, rearrange the face-down Defense Position monsters on your side of the field, then return them in face-down Defense Position.

...but I would doubt that you could use it on the Exceed Material Monsters (not like there'd be much point right now anyway). In fact, I doubt that Exceed Material Monsters underneath an Exceed Monster would count towards the "field" for such things or things like Secret Barrel and whatnot.

But we'll just have to wait and see what the rest of the rulings say.
Sho Shinjo (guest) - 2011/03/02 22:38

Oh, cool, Mirror Force.

So it's now a common insert for starters/structures.

How about a Torrential Tribute reprint? It's been ages since we had one.

Fob4eva - 2011/03/03 04:56

TOKENS

WE WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE TOKENS

HalfDemonInuyasha - 2011/03/04 20:34

reply

And you and others need to learn to be patient.

As stated, ALL the rules are not known. Just little tidbits revealed. We'll have to wait until they decide to fully reveal them or when the Starter Deck and such actually come out. Demanding answers here won't make them come out any faster.
Guardian Eatos (guest) - 2011/03/05 00:42

limit the extra deck to 20 now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HalfDemonInuyasha - 2011/03/05 04:35

reply

If anything, Exceeds would get the Extra Deck LOWERED in number, lol.
Azoz faskar (guest) - 2011/03/05 14:34

MARK MY WORDS

Guys since this is the system of summoning the Exceed monsters then let me remind you that PHANTOM SKYBLASTER will enter the limited list since you can summon an Exceed monster Rank 4 by only normal summoning Phantom skyblaster.

Got it everyone.

oh well that's it

HalfDemonInuyasha - 2011/03/06 04:23

reply

We have yet to even get any sort of confirmation that Tokens will even work as Exceed Material Monsters though.
HalfDemonInuyasha - 2011/03/20 18:32

reply

Sadly, until Exceeds become "good enough" for "competitive" people, a bunch of this stuff will only end up being used for Synchro Summoning most likely, if at all. =\

Me (guest) - 2011/08/01 20:49

Dvisidor

Cause they're ranks they can't be used as synchro materials.

P.S. once again i bought the starter deck with the new rules
SynjoDeonecros - 2011/03/21 00:56

So, now that the starter deck is out, any confirmation on how Exceed Summons and Exceed Materials work?

HalfDemonInuyasha - 2011/03/22 02:49

reply

Q: Can you use face down face down monsters as Exceed materials?

A: No you may not

Q: When the Exceed monster is destroyed and sent to grave due to battle or by card effects, what happens to the Exceed materials?

A: When the Exceed monster leaves field, the Exceed materials are sent to grave

Q: If Interdimensional Matter Transporter is used on an Exceed monster, what happens to the Exceed materials?

A: The Exceed materials are sent to grave

Q: If Compulsory Evacuation Device is used on an Exceed monster, what happens to the Exceed materials?

A: The Exceed materials are sent to grave

Q: If Book of Moon is used on an Exceed monster, what happens to the Exceed materials?

A: The Exceed materials stay on the field with the face down Exceed monster (Yes, the Exceed materials actually stay with the Exceed monster all the way)

Q: If Banisher of Radiance or Macrocosmos is on the field and the Exceed monster leaves field, what happens to the Exceed materials?

A: The Exceed materials are removed from game

Q: If Dimension Fissure is on the field and the Exceed monster leaves field, what happens to the Exceed materials?

A: The Exceed materials are sent to grave

Q: If Mind Control is used on an opp's Exceed monster, what happens to the Exceed materials?

A: The Exceed materials' control moves together with the Exceed monster's control

Q: If Skill Drain is on the field and you Exceed Summon, what happens to the Exceed materials?

A: The Exceed materials are still placed on the Exceed monster

Q: Can a Zombie Carrier (Plaguespreader Zombie) that is on the field through its revival effect be used as a Exceed material? If so, what happens to the Exceed materials? And what happens when the Exceed monster leaves the field?

A: You may use that Zombie Carrier as an Exceed material. When you use it as an Exceed material, the Zombie Carrier will become an Exceed Material for the Exceed monster. When the Exceed monster leaves the field, the Zombie Carrier goes to grave. (So yes, you can reuse it again)

Q: If a Sangan was used as an Exceed material, when it goes to grave, do you get the search effect?

A: When the Sangan becomes an Exceed material, it is no longer treated to be 'on the field', therefore you will not be able to search as it did not enter grave from field. (The same would apply to cards like DD Survivor, etc)

Q: If a Dandylion was used as an Exceed material, when it goes to grave, do you get the special summon token effect?

A: When the Dandylion becomes an Exceed material and is sent to grave, you will still get the special summon token effect. (Difference from Sangan is it does not have to enter grave from the field to get its effect. The same would apply to Jinzo Returner, DD Scout plane, etc)

Q: If a machine monster is an Exceed material, and a Cyber Dragon is on the field, can you contact for a Chimeratech Fortress Dragon?

A: You may not (Similar to Sangan's ruling, the Exceed materials are not considered to be on the field)

Q: If you have an Exceed monster on the field with Exceed materials, and your opponent activates Secret Barrel. Do you count the Exceed materials?

A: No, you do not include the Exceed materials (I guess consistent with its ruling for Sangan and such, Exceed materials are technically NOT on the field)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other things not mentioned in the FAQ

Trap monsters can be used in the Exceed summon and they still go under the Exceed monster as an Exceed materials

Tokens cannot be used for Exceed summons.

Exceed materials are not considered to be on the field (Similar to the rulings for Sangan, etc in the FAQ), therefore you cannot target them with Raigeki Break and other such cards.
J4B0i - 2011/03/21 13:37

You cannot use tokens. Jesus. Isn't like you can go to Wal Mart and just pick up a pack of tokens. They can't be used anyways so forget the whole tokens being used as Exceed Materials thing.
