wc2011

hell yeah i've been waiting for this for a long time,i hope it's gonna have extreme vixtory set, judgement of omega and the new structure deck in it

Jing (guest) - 2010/11/19 18:02

AWESOME

No more ugly 3d sprites. Fucking hell that shit was ugly. I would love it if they just stuck detailed 2d pics instead.

SynjoDeonecros (guest) - 2010/11/20 22:20

I disagree; those sprites were our only way of really seeing what some of the monsters looked like; without them, how would we know that Timeater was some sort of clock golem instead of just a giant clock face, for example? With the "detailed 2D pics", they're usually just higher resolution versions of the card art itself, which sucks, in my opinion.

I seriously hope this rumor isn't true, because the DS games were already lacking in playability, in my opinion (seriously, I don't care about your opinion of the PSP, you can't tell me that it doesn't have a better card pool than that paltry haphazard pool of 1200 or so cards each game seems to be stuck at), and those sprites were the only real incentive I had to check them out; without them, I see no point in playing the games.

yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2011 - Over the Nexus

i am going a female in the game
Leonard Loki (guest) - 2010/11/22 15:22

KUDOS

i completele agree. sure, they could make the 2d's move a little, but fuck, those 3D's were terrible... *shiver*

@SynjoDeonecros
you play the games for the sprites? that's just plain sad. you should play the game for the game...
Lentra - 2010/11/19 18:49

About time....

I was beginning to wonder if Konami was going to have a DS game for '11. Personally, I'd rather drop the 3D sprites and just go to more detailed full-art 2D versions. I'm curious what kind of setup a 'revised battle screen' is going to offer.

ShinobiPhoenix - 2010/11/19 19:45

So YGO 3DS = Spirit Summoner?

This is pushing more to my theory that the 3DS game is a Spirit Summoner/Nightmare Troubadour type game.

Think about it this way. EX2006 was for GBA, but Nightmare Troubadour that same YEAR was for DS and was VASTLY over what the GBA could do in every way. We didn't get an EX game for DS until 2007 (after another story-game, Spirit Summoner, WHICH was made compatible with EX2007).

So I see the same thing happening. The 3DS game will probably be another story game to test out features and see what CAN be done, then EX2012 will be for 3DS as something official and big for what can truly. We might even see a SECOND 3DS game before we get EX2012.

This also releases the 3DS game from the shackles of having to hold back to work with the DS game, it doesn't have to now. So it can go BALLS OUT on graphics, card pool and features.

No excuses, Konami. GO ALL OUT FOR 3DS!!

As talked about, it'd be nice if the Gatling Ogre series were the promos; Gatling Ogre, Full Armor Ogre, and Big Cannon Ogre for the game and Long Barrel Ogre for the Guide.

Stardust (guest) - 2010/11/20 02:50

lol @ the game title

so first we BELIEVE IN NEXUS, now we are going to go OVER THE NEXUS? xD

Luciano (guest) - 2010/11/20 16:45

just like John Cena XD
Felix The Scrap Kid (guest) - 2010/11/24 22:04

Over Teh Nexus?

It's official- the translation of Nexus is Fourth Wall. Believe In (breaking) The Fourth Wall, now we go over it XD

I know it's kind of pushing it, but I hope for Extreme Victory to be in this game. Not for any big reason, but just to be a little ahead in packs so we don't have to wait for TF6 or WC2012 to put it in. But as long as it goes up to STOR and DT11 then I'll be a happy camper I would also like to see Dark Synchro Monsters in the WC series.

Person (guest) - 2010/11/25 01:44

Dark Synchros

They're probably having the Dark Synchros appear as regular synchro cards, considering that they're been released as such.
Person (guest) - 2010/11/25 01:48

No 3d sprites

It sucks that they took out the 3d sprites. Someone is being lazy :P

New battle screen is cool looking though. Also, I heard that you start in Crash Town. Is that true?

Yueryuu (guest) - 2010/11/25 23:45

No 3D Sprites!

I think it's a good thing they're out. They certainly didn't help the lag the games suffer from and besides that, they either needed improvement or removal. A lot of them are years old, from Nightmare Troubadour and clashed with the newer style or were flat-out sub-par.

And if you start out in Crash Town, then I totally want to enter the Classy Ass.
Volroc Destiny - 2010/11/26 13:15

baka...

Yueryuu have you even looked at the pictures yet? the graphics are even WORSE than last years, the 3D sprites werent that bad, its the overall shitty graphics we get in WC thats horrible, look at the overworld in story mode since 2009, it looks like complete shit, the 3D sprites were far superior to that, not to mention someone else already said this, but ill say it for you,the sprites are the only way to know exactly what ALOT of monsters actually look like, if nintendo had any brains at all, theyd start working on this about the time they release the current years version, add the new cards as the year goes by, & seriously work on the graphics, the 3D sprites, & the lag, which is nintendos fault, if the graphics werent shit, then thered be no lag.
lastly if the sprites were optional, then everyone would be happy, once again nintendo overlooks the obvious
Yueryuu (guest) - 2010/11/28 01:51

Who's the dummy?

The blocky overworld models in the recent WC games is simply laze on Konami's part. The DS can do far better than that - look at the upcoming Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. In any case, the big N are fixing their current generation graphical limitations with the 3DS.

The monster sprites from the DM era games look dated. The ones from the GX era were lazily animated. They picked up the standard in the recent games, but I'm all for dropping them to make the game run more smoothly. Especially when it comes to AI "thinking" times. It looks like the squares have been done away with, which is also a good thing. The field looks sharper and it looks like we get some new graphical effects when initating attacks, so as someone who just wants the game to get on with it, I'm happy.
Bubbles (guest) - 2010/11/26 14:01

Ok, my turn to comment!

the sprites were just for decoration, and they lagged the game. Plus i could barely see my fav monsters BECAUSE THEY'RE BACK TOWARDS ME.

And i like the vs screen , but the few stuff i liked about the 2010 version is that i could see the entire body of the monster, where as the card only shows a bit of it.And now that space is smaller.

the field is normal, the game graphics are normal, and i hope this story has a better impact than 2010.(which it was good btw.)

PLUS: my main reasons to buy this game is to try the new story and try new decks without spending real money.

Now my only question is:
How far off in cards is this game? Far until Storm of ragnarok or far enought for the sd20 Lost Sanctuary?

ShinobiPhoenix - 2010/11/26 15:21

Tag Force 5 only goes up to Starstrike Blast, right?

I guess we can only expect this to go up to Storm of Ragnarok then?

Extreme Victory (as usual) is out of the question unless comes much later than Feb and they have time to actually PROGRAM the set in (maybe it could since normally sets are done long before they are released, but only if well after Feb).

Personally, I'm hoping more than the 3DS game is the one that goes up to Extreme Victory. Maybe even utilize the SD memory to store ACTUAL expansion and DLC data for real downloads (like on Decade Duels).

RavenFromHell - 2010/11/29 16:17

Exclusives?

I'm hoping they'll put in those TCG exclusives up to at least STBL, GK's wont be as competitive without Recruiter... Same goes for Psychics, and some other crap.

masquerade (guest) - 2010/11/29 17:10

That probably depends on extra pack 4...I don't think that's been announced yet...
Metze94 (guest) - 2010/11/29 21:38

Promos

I really want Decago Knight , Hexa Knight and Triangle Knight from Smith to release !!

Kitda9 (guest) - 2010/11/30 18:40

hmmmm....I'm predicting Gatling Ogre will be one of the promo cards we're getting

renders (guest) - 2010/12/01 15:30

prediction

i predict as promos either gatling ogre and his other formes or the that guy's white deck that he used against crow
RavenFromHell (guest) - 2010/12/07 11:43

@renders

that (white warriors)
would
kick
ass
and make BF lose their compatibility if everyone runs a few in their side :P
lucce - 2010/12/15 14:55

Wow...

The promo cards are from Sherry!
They look pretty powerful! Z-One's effect is funny. :3
Can't really wait for them to come to europe. :D
Specially the game.

Guy55 (guest) - 2010/12/15 16:46

Ecole De Zone

Hope that Ecole De Zone will be the book promo

HalfDemonInuyasha - 2010/12/15 20:18

Nice to see (Sin) Sherry's cards, lol.

Z-ONE (Z One, not "Zone")- As I figured; much different than the anime, lol. Much simpler and has pretty decent usage in some Decks. Gives Double Cyclone more purpose though.

Fleur de Sorciere - Decent, but balanced. Ironically, good for Synchro Summoning (using the stolen monster), and also Tribute Summoning, etc. At least it's not a Plant, so no evil Lonefire Blossom and/or Gigaplant usage.

Necro Fleur - A 2900 straight from the Deck is nice, though still balanced in needing to die by a card effect to do so.

renders (guest) - 2010/12/16 07:26

Z-ONE

how is zone better than terraforming?
madego (guest) - 2010/12/16 10:42

it can be sacced for scrap effects, double cyclone, magcial hats
in short its bait
HalfDemonInuyasha - 2010/12/16 18:52

reply

Never said it was better than Terraforming o_O Just that it has use in several Decks.

But it IS slightly better in that in can get back Continuous Magic Cards and not just Field Magic Cards and the Graveyard is much more easily accessible than the Deck. As mentioned, Gateway of the Six is one big use for it.
penguar321 (guest) - 2010/12/16 18:31

Z-One

recyclable Gateway of the Six says hi

dlang5454 (guest) - 2010/12/16 21:56

Crow got this card in the anime

So Black Whirlwind says what's up
Black Sorrow (guest) - 2010/12/18 01:12

Z-One

Good for Infernities too, as they can recycle Gun!

Lentra - 2010/12/18 01:25

Also good for Antique Gears, Gravekeepers, Ojamas, or any other deck that revolves around a particular Field Spell.
Jean Marcel (guest) - 2010/12/18 02:18

Interesting..

Did you guys notice that the new Sherry's monsters have the Infinity-Like effect?
I mean, Necro Flower has a very similar effect to that of the Infinity Cores, when destroyed by effect, it Special Summons the Witch of Time Flower, that somewhat represents her Machine Emperor, which doesn't absorb a Synchro Monster but it Special Summons any monster from the op. grave instead. [/Assuming she didn't give up on her Plant/Flower Deck entirely and wasn't going to get a Machine Emperor.

Z-One is bad-ass 2, it will help a LOT of decks.

All in all, these cards are awesome.
HalfDemonInuyasha - 2010/12/19 20:37

reply

It's hardly broken on any scale, but it can be a little useful. The main problem is wasting your own resources just to kill it (not many besides Double Cyclone that wouldn't really be wasteful) or waiting for the opponent to do so.

As Danieru told me over MSN, you may as well save yourself the trouble of the middleman and simply use Magic Shard Excavation or something.
