what is it

a game? a guide?

2009?

MasterSephiroth - 2010/08/18 10:36

It is

A game guide. With a promo. And they'll mess up it's effect.

2009 is a typo of shriek.
ShiroRyu - 2010/08/18 18:39

I can't see them not messing up it's effect with what's now limited in the new banlist (Reborn). That's just asking for shenanigans.

It's anime effect is "When this card attacks directly, it loses 300 ATK during the Damage Step only. When this card is destroyed by a card effect, you can add 1 Spell Card from your Graveyard to your hand.", just in case you were wondering why.

Chances are, it'll be nerfed to a specific type of Magic Card or something like that.

Or put some kind of limit on not being able to use whatever Magic Card you take back or something.

Well, if that's the effect, then I was right. At least it can get itself back with its own effect, lol.

patitoroshi - 2010/08/22 16:40

XD...

This card's effect sucks!!!!

TheDarkAngelRocket (guest) - 2010/08/23 01:55

Jeanne

Jeanne got nerfed as expected. Konami does not want to make another quick Spell searcher from the Grave, especially after what happened with DMoC.
Horray for crap!

Ynottony (guest) - 2010/08/23 06:17

Wow...... A card that constantly can recycle itself

Potential Holy Knight Stun

ShiroRyu - 2010/08/23 14:23

Nerfed as I predicted...

...but still pretty neat. I might play this in Lightsworns, since it's still LIGHT with nice ATK, and it's effect now goes off if it's destroyed in battle too (note that it's an "If", not a "When", so it doesn't miss the timing), and it can still drop a Necro Gardna, Plaguespreader, etc. into the Graveyard and retrieve Jain/Ehren/Garoth/itself.

So yeah, while not as broken as in the anime, it's still good enough to be playable. :)

"When" and "if" isn't what matters (both words are easily interchangeable), but whether it's optional or not ("you can" being the key words more).

It seems like it's mandatory here, but I'd guess it's optional.

If it's mandatory, then it couldn't miss the timing.

If it isn't, though, it can miss the timing.
ShiroRyu - 2010/08/24 19:43

"When" and "If" actually do matter. Take a look at cards like Blackwing Breeze the Zephyr for example. Breeze says "If...you can...", but it doesn't miss the timing.

If it's "When... you can..." then it's optional and can miss the timing if it's not the last thing to happen/if it happens in the damage step and the effect doesn't mention during the damage step.

If it's "If... you can..." then it's optional, but happens as soon as the chain's complete/as soon as the damage step ends, regardless of whether it was the last thing to happen.
