They'd better be Thunder or Rock.

Yuginshin (guest) - 2009/10/21 00:01

Thunder or Rock?
Don't wish for too much now. As long as they are good to make up for the name i'm fine.
TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/10/21 00:43

Trishula?

Trishula... Very weird name for a DT archetype.

CBreeze5g (guest) - 2009/11/07 18:25

Pulse of the Trishula

I hope that they put in more support for Flamvells and Mist Valley cards as they do need it.
Scion of the Flames (guest) - 2009/10/21 02:00

I vouch Trishula has a "trinity" theme. I don't know in what form it might take whether that means three head, 3-card combos, 3 material monsters . . .

I just want more Flamveil support and maybe Dark-thunders.

dwapprox (guest) - 2009/10/21 02:38

Trishula

In Indonesia, it is a fork-like spear; it has 3 sharp points on its edge, like E-Hero Ocean's.

So could it be a new WATER archetype?

SynjoDeonecros - 2009/10/21 06:31

Eh, I doubt it; a quick search on Wikipedia comes up that it's mostly a religious symbol, associated with gods like Shiva or Durga. I'm thinking this could be a Fairy archetype.
MasterSephiroth - 2009/10/21 09:14

Fiend Roar Deity Beasts

Trishula is a traditional Indian trident. So, cause of Ganashia from DT07, it could mean the Fiend Roar Deity Beasts to continue this sort of religious theme. It seems, with further researches, that the Fiend Roar Deity Beasts has a theme about animal legends and gods from all over the world. Ganashia comes from Ganesha, the best known Hindu deity. Nozuchi is related to the legendary Tsuchinoko snake from North Japan. Chawa resembles a Chihuahua, who is believed that they were hold by aztec priests and who guide the soules of death persons to the afterworld. Cerberal is similar to Cerberus, a hree-headed dog from the greek mytholigie. Kashi is related to Scotish mythologie cause it's based of the fairy Cat Sith. Unicor is based of Unicorns, that is mythological creature, but more modern than the others. I couldn't find anything to Rubilarda, maybe anyone can help me.

A second meaning is the symbol of Buddhist, triratna. This could be a new archtype or could have to do something with Rituals.

It could be Roman, too. But I don't know how to classify it.

Personaly, I think it has to do with Fiend Roar Deity Beasts.

dwapprox (guest) - 2009/10/21 09:42

logical

In fact, Indonesia has its customs mixed with India, so it is logical if I called it Indonesian (but still wrong -_-)

After checking wiki, could it be a continuation of EARTH/Fairy?
Nathan (guest) - 2009/10/21 14:43

Trishula??? Okay sounds weird but hopefully it is an archetype for sea serpents because sea serpents really need the boost out of all of the creature types.

HalfDemonInuyasha (guest) - 2009/10/22 04:38

reply

Probably...it's possible since, after all, Genex monsters now have 3 different families, yet ALL can use their support. (Genex, Real Genex, and Ally Genex.) X-Sabers also got XX-Saber (which still have "X-Saber" in the name) and Demon Roar Gods with Demon Roar God Beasts.

So I suppose a 3rd upgrade for Demon Roar Gods is possible, but I also doubt that because, like the above mentioned, they still retain their same name somehow, "Genex" and "Demon Roar God". If this were to be another upgrade for an existing theme, then like before, they would surely have kept their same name while slightly changing it so they'd be different, yet still work with eachother. So if this were to be a Demon Roar God upgrade, then wouldn't it be rather "Demon Roar God Trishula - "?

It most likely is an entirely separate family.

XiaoCola (guest) - 2009/10/22 06:48

Sound SO Water

The Whole Term,
Pusle and Trishula,
Sound So Watery.
LOL.
Trishula might also be a FRG Archtype agn.
cos it is a good way to earn $$$$ out of a famous archtype.

Yuginshin (guest) - 2009/10/25 21:40

Ice Boundary

What if they are what the Ice Boundary people were keeping sealed. That would be epic i mean Jurac Meteor might like destroy alot of stuff and the seal will break and then the Trishula are released or something.

By the way what is the Backstory of the Duel Terminals?

Shikai (guest) - 2009/10/28 14:47

From pulse I think it would be some Thunder type mobs.
Lady Gaga (guest) - 2009/11/01 06:37

Water Theme

Wa Wa Wa Water Theme Wa Wa Water Theme....Wa Wa Wa Wa
ShinobiPhoenix - 2009/11/12 15:05

Partisan and Corseca, welcome to your new home in CYBERDARK Decks. Not to mention ANY deck that has monsters that eat other monsters.

Trishula, no one was right about you. Cute effect, but having to use 3 materials will get you ignored. Perhaps, it's time Konami made a Double Coston for Synchro Summons.

Barchela - On paper, you look like crap. You have to fill up your Backrow with 5 monsters and all you get is 1500. The only saving grace is if one is smart enough to use monster that themselves ALSO give effects to Barchela and even then, you can only use so many. There's also however a strategy if one wants to turn those equips back into monsters and swarm.

anonymous (guest) - 2009/11/12 19:15

Except Trishula is ridiculously easy to summon.
HalfDemonInuyasha (guest) - 2009/11/12 19:22

reply

I wouldn't be so quick to judge Trishula. After all, Mist Wurm requires 3 Synchro Material Monsters and it saw quite a bit of use.

Trishula is MORE evil than Mist Wurm both ATK (2700 > 2500) and effect-wise (Mist Wurm bouncing 3 cards from your opponent's field back to their hand while Trishula removes 1 from the hand, field, and/or Graveyard).

And it's not like getting out 2 non-Tuners is hard...

The Tricky, Cyber Dragon, Vice Dragon, Priest of the Sun, etc can make 5 Levels. Dark Bug (which makes 4 Levels with its Special Summoning of a Level 3 Tuner from your Graveyard) and Level Stealer anyone? (Level 5 turned 4 from Level Stealer + Level 1 for Bug = 5 + Level 3 for the Tuner = 8 + Level 1 from Level Stealer = 9).

Or just use The Tricky, ditch a Level 3 Tuner, and Normal Summon Dark Bug; 5 + 3 + 1 = 9.
DarkDragonphoenix (guest) - 2009/11/12 19:12

What the f***

Trishula is just a Broken Mist Wurm, Stardust-untouchable and hand stealer, helllll, Mist Wurm looks old compared to this, noone would play Mistwurm any more if this is out!

DarkDragonphoenix (guest) - 2009/11/12 19:37

notice

Did anyone notice that both Brionac and Trishula have names of Mytic Spears?
Yuginshin (guest) - 2009/11/12 21:56

You seem to forget about Gungnir (4th most broken one and still broken) and i was right about Ice Boundaries woot.
Jaja Boulafi Emouk (guest) - 2009/11/12 19:38

Nice cards, Trishula is great, wait to see its artwork!! The rest is meh, not interested!!!

TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/11/12 21:17

Duel Terminal 8

This set is awesome.
I was kinda hoping Partisan have 1000 ATK because it would mean that Harmony's Treasure would be more compatible with the deck.
This set is named after a specific card instead of a specific archetype? Trishula is awesome; makes Mist Wurm horrible in comparison. I have a feeling that it will be restricted like its Ice Boundary brethren.

Player (guest) - 2009/11/13 07:10

Mist Wurm can clear the Field for OTK, Trishula can't do it => Each has its own value
RedEyesFan - 2009/11/12 23:30

Hell Yeah!

Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon gets reprinted!!!!

screw those ridiculous price, Konami have reprints

and the best part,
MOAR DRAGONS!!!!

Jk (guest) - 2009/11/14 09:52

totally agree how I hope remd..the last was le11 but is too difficult to get it now.hope the reprint will bring a great pic too. I would complete my hopeless dragon :)
aussieman000 (guest) - 2009/11/13 09:03

Unsure as to whether it lets you look at the opponent's hand... but Trishula looks pretty fucking good anyway. Most decks with tuners have an easy enough way of summoning it, it has decent ATK and a successful summon a couple of turns into the game is a pretty big step towards winning even if it is a 2 for 2 at it's most basic level.

HalfDemonInuyasha (guest) - 2009/11/13 22:09

reply

Unless the card specifically says you can, then you can't look at your opponent's hand.

And the thing is is that, thanks to easy Special Summoning for stuff these days, it's more advantageous to you when you bring it out with things like The Tricky, Cyber Dragon, Vice Dragon, Priest of the Sun, etc along with things like Dark Bug, Level Stealer, Zombie Carrier along with a simple Call of the Haunted, Angel Lift, and whatnot. So you may not use up as much as you may think all the time.
aussieman000 (guest) - 2009/11/14 08:51

True enough, but Trishula's currently known text doesn't say it's a random selection, and that's what this game calls it when you select something from a bunch of cards without seeing what they are.

And yeah, I know there are easier ways to summon Trishula, they're the same ones that are currently employed for summoning Mist Wurm (e.g. Shura+Shura'd Vayu+Bora, Monk->Cat->Airbellum+Ryko). That's the reason I added the "at it's most basic level." part.
HalfDemonInuyasha (guest) - 2009/11/15 21:16

reply

Just saying "select 1 card" without actually saying to look at their hand means exactly that. The opponent holds out their cards without you seeing them, you pick one of them, and discard it and you don't even see it until it's in the Graveyard (or removed from play depending on other effects). If it's supposed to be random or let you look at their hand, the card will specifically say "1 random card" or "1 card at random" or "look at your opponent's hand" and whatnot. That's how it's always been done.

And I doubt Trishula will be banned, but I could see it being another restricted Synchro (assuming it gets used A LOT) alongside Goyou Guardian and Black Rose Dragon. It's a pretty evil effect, yes, but it won't necessarily help you win THAT easily like Dark Dive Bomber, Goyou Guardian, and Black Rose Dragon could. As said, Mist Wurm fits that bill much better for OTKing or finishing since it can possibly clear the opponent's field entirely (or at least most of it) while Trishula only hits 1 on their field while the other hits 1 in their hand and 1 in their Graveyard.
MasterSephiroth - 2009/11/13 10:58

Cool...just cool

Dragunity - Partisan has a good effect, allthought the thing with the Bird Tuner didn't have to be. But you can combinate this card with Dragunity - Militum, to Special Summon Partisan right back to the field. Sadly it doesn't have only 1000 ATK, but now it can run over Lumina.

Dragunity - Corsesca is another Lvl 1 Tuner for Dragunity, so it can be easily summoned by One for One. It's effect is not bad, you could use it with very many combinations. Use it with Dragunity Knight - Vajuranda allways get WIND Dragon-Type monsters on your hand, if you destroy a monster by battle, as an example monsters like Debris Dragon.

Dragunity Knight - Barchha resembles the 5th Dragunity Synchro. It's stats were Lvl 8, ATK2000 and DEF1200, that's a little low. As usually for Dragunity Knights, it needs a Dragon Tuner and a Winged Beast Non-Tuner. It's effect can give him a possible ATK boost of 1500 to make it's ATK more worthy 3500ATK. A Combination with this and Phalanx would generate more Synchros or a good chance of getting an Trident Dragon OTK. (Synchro Summon Barchha, select 3 Phalanx, special summon all three, Synchro Summon to Trident Dragon, destroy the two Phalanxes, OTK)

Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier is a Mist Wurm like Synchro. It needs 1 Tuner and 2 Non-Tuners, with no further restrictions. When it is Synchro Summoned, it removes from play one each from hand, field and/or graveyard. The time has to show, which we, Trishula, or Mist Wurm. Mist Wurm Bounces 3 cards from the field back to the hand, what is perfect in a way of matter, for OTKs. Trishula is not, that good for OTK, but can be used to. Maybe I integrate both in my normal Extra Deck.

By the way, I really hope, that there are some Fiend Roar Deities in this set. But until now, I really love the cards, at most I like Trishula, it has some style.

*Waiting for more cards to be announced*

Elemental Azza Kid - 2009/11/13 20:01

Trishula

That's the THIRD Dragon of the Ice Barrier now! I was hoping for a Trishula archetype!

Yuginshin (guest) - 2009/11/14 13:38

We all were waiting for that. But i really want to see the Ice Barrier support.
newkalno (guest) - 2009/11/15 03:26

Trishula is broken

use debris dragon revive tuningware
use machine duplication

buy 3 cards and remove from play 3 cards from your opponent
de-synchro
and gg?

anyway Trishula is ridicolous broken
i guess he will be banned

and starlight road (limited to 1)

THE RETURN OF FREMBELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://pic.newwise.com/bbs_fj/day_091117/0911171629ca63bc4695faafe1.jpg

The new ones are called NEO-Frembell.

So we have at least 6 Neo-Frembell (one Synchro) and confirmed 3 more Ice Barrier (4 counting Trishula).

TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/11/17 21:24

Neo-Frembell

Neo-Frembel's strategies now focusing on removing cards in the Graveyard from play... Awesome!
HalfDemonInuyasha (guest) - 2009/11/17 21:58

reply

I knew it; each family is getting an "evolved" form it seems...Real/Ally Genex, Demon Roar God Beast, XX-Saber, now Neofrembell.

Next thing you know, we'll be getting new Ally of Justice, Worm, Natural, and Jurac, lol.

Champion of Justice, Megaworm, Allnatural (XD), and Superjurac or something, lol.
ShinobiPhoenix - 2009/11/17 22:13

Storyline wise, Ally Genex ARE the AOJ upgrades.

Literally, it says that in game. Ally's part is done since Worms are defeated once and for all. Ally Genex are there because now they are fighting the DRG (the alliance including Dragunity and now Neofrembell).

And DRGB aren't upgrades, they are still part of and with DRG standard.

Naturals once need anything until they are force to and they are barely in the battle right now, mostly they are fighting to suppress the mutation spreading from the Juracs after the Worms corrupted them. As it stands, both are still alive and well but they aren't part of the Alliance vs DRG fight or the Frembell/NeoFrembell vs Ice Barrier fight (as shown from Battle of the Elements). It's obvious smoething will happen to the Ice Barrier because Trishula is free (what they were guarding and keeping asleep until the War with the Worms and now DRG woke it). Though to be honest, I have a feeling the NeoF themselves woke up Trishula by attacking the Ice Barriers out of anger for their abandonment and bullshit neutrality which almost caused the Worms Victory as well as the destruction of the Frembells.

Neofrembell were made since because they were dead. XX-Sabers are the same with all the original 10 dead (killed first actually), except those are in set, so they aren't even on DT Planet). I would say Mist Valley should be next, but they are back through Dragunity (remnants of Mist Valley sworn to restore their honor after one of their own betrayed everyone).

No new Naturals until the Phoenix Synchro and they have a reason, but they are still alive with no changes.

No new Jurac until they purge the mutation and maybe we'll have Restored Jurac's who aren't on Fire with guns growing from their chest (probably Naturals heal them as that is their job, to restore nature to its true state).

Ice Barrier will probably end this set since the Barrier is CLEARLY destroyed and they they will do something else.

DEFINITELY no Worms yet until the fight with DRGs are over because they are the CURRENT villain. Worms took 6 sets to kill and they killed 3 other Tribes before being brought down. Maybe in another Reptile form, but not Worms anymore, but not until FAR later.
