Charge of Genexes

Expect plenty of Genex cards.
Plenty more authentic than Absolute Powerforce right now.

DSD (guest) - 2009/08/05 21:18

Real Genexes or just Genexes because now it seems like theres two many running around. Give Flemvells another boost !

but im glad to see some new info up here,
ShinobiPhoenix - 2009/08/06 14:13

DT08's title...

better be "Fury of the Frembells" if there's ends up being no Frembell or Mist Valley in this.

An Onyx Mouse - 2009/08/10 22:40

I'm just hoping...

...that some of the "nothing but monster card" DT archetypes get some Spell/Trap support in this and the coming DT sets, so that they can be a bit more viable. Maybe a spell for Dragunity that can equip a Dragon to a Winged Beast?

TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/08/12 01:06

Re: An Onyx Mouse

There are spell and trap cards for the X-Saber and Frembell archetypes. Maybe if they released some cards from DT archetypes into the booster packs, we would have spell and trap support.
An Onyx Mouse - 2009/10/04 05:43

I know they do.

That's why I said I was hoping that the ones that -don't- have any S/T support yet got some.
TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/08/18 17:17

Ally Genex FTW

Ally Genex Changer- Finally a monster that can change the Attribute of a selected monster until the End Phase. That is really helpful given the certain Genex requirements of the non-Tuner monsters being a specific attribute.

Ally Genex Solid- 2 free cards by sending a face-up WATER "Genex" you control. Good, as "Genex" covers a lot more than "Ally Genex."

Ally Genex Volcannon- Using a FIRE "Genex" as a cost, you can destroy ANY face-up monster your opponent controls and deal damage equal to its Level x 400. You can inflict 2000-3000 points of damage once per turn with this card if you play your cards right.

Ally Genex Powercall- Other "Genex" monster who share this Attribute gain a certain amount of ATK power. This is a DARK monster, but you can change this card's attribute or the attribute of any non-DARK Genex monster.

Ally Genex Remote- A Level 3 tuner. Basically you can pick ANY Tuner monster on the field and treat its name as "Genex Controller," this card included. This is especially helpful as certain other Genex tuners basically require GC to be in the Graveyard or to be discarded.

Ally Genex Triarm- Like the majority of other "Genex" Synchro, requires "Genex Controller" and non-tuners. It is a Level 6 Synchro with 2400 ATK (not bad...) However, unlike the others, there is no attribute limit to the synchro requirement. This card gain(s) effects depending on the attributes of the non-tuner monster(s) used to Synchro Summon it, and can use them once per turn. They are decent effects, but whether this means you can activate any of these effects once per turn (if you used 2-3 attribute non-tuners for the summon) or one of these effects once per turn is up to speculation. Decent Synchro...

O_o

Come on, more Dark monsters against Light... ASSHOLES...

TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/08/19 03:14

Ally Genex

I believe the Ally Genex monster(s) are meant to represent some hybrid between AOJ and Genex monsters. You know, as AOJ are essentially DARK monsters focused on destroying LIGHT monsters. But I doubt you can use AOJ cards with Genex though. These cards are still good though; 2 free cards or 2000-3000 points of damage are still epic wins (and once per turn effects too).
HalfDemonInuyasha - 2009/08/19 04:03

reply

It's not JUST that they're DARK, but DARK MACHINE-Type monsters too (all of which the Ally of Justice stuff is).

As said, you can still use "Genex" support cards (as they are still Ally "Genex" monsters just like Real "Genex" monsters), but not "Ally of Justice" support since they are merely "Ally" Genex monsters, not "Ally of Justice" Genex monsters unless they make some strange ruling to have them that way, which I doubt.

Though I do wonder why they bother "evolving" the Genex family into "Real Genex" and now "Ally Genex" rather than simply having better, normal, "Genex" monsters.

What's next (besides XX-Saber and possibly Demon Roar God Beast)?

Natural + Worm? (Natural Worm =P)
Mist Valley + Ice Boundary? (Mist Boundary? Ice Valley? lol)
Frembell + Jurrac?
etc?
Wolfgang DelaSangre (guest) - 2009/08/19 07:39

Interesting tag-team

It looks like the Allies of Justice have just gotten an upgrade from the Genex monsters. Integrated technologies should allow for more efficient energy usage.

In short, the Worms are gonna get their slimy butts handed to them.

Wolfgang DelaSangre (guest) - 2009/08/19 07:44

In case anyone's wondering...

I think Konami is using these cards to tell a story. Sure, having some new cards you can use that help balance out the meta and make the game more accessible to players who hate copycatting, but why stop there? Why not use the cards themselves to tell a story?

Not exactly a good marketing ploy since 99% of humanity has about as much depth as a puddle, but since they're making so much money anyway, why not let someone use the cards as a medium for their creative process?
Scion of the Flames (guest) - 2009/08/19 09:38

Why are all the Ally Genex here Dark?

TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/08/19 18:58

Re: Scion of the Flames

Let's see now... maybe because the AOJ (Ally of Justice) monsters are DARK.
Scion of the Flames (guest) - 2009/08/22 02:23

Are you implying there are regular Justice monsters that aren't just Dark and instead span the entire 6 attributes?
Yuginshin (guest) - 2009/09/05 21:23

No but the Genex monsters spanned the attributes the Ally of Justice are only dark. But guess what the Ally Genex monsters have effects revolving around attributes like their Genex predecessors but their are Dark and Machine like their Ally of Justice predeecessors.
redeyesmaster (guest) - 2009/09/09 00:37

what is up with this

you know i like the fact that they are bringeing out new cards and cards like white night dragon and arcana knight joker are now out but it seems to me that there alot of older cards that they have not brought out i for one really want meteor black dragon just to finish my red eyes deck off but really did we need the sacred beast fusion i for one dont care for it im also a user of gate gaurdian and have made a deck to get him on the field so dark guardian would be a nice addition to but they bring out new cards and slowly bring out older cards but very very slowly

SynjoDeonecros - 2009/09/11 21:02

Aww, Cerberal looks so cute! Unfortunately, since it's a level 2 Beast Tuner, that means it's prime fodder for Rescue Cat Synchro, which sucks, but at least It's a decent monster for Dark World and Demon Roar God decks, especially since it looks like it can't miss the timing AND can activate its effect if it's discarded as a cost.

SynjoDeonecros - 2009/09/23 03:37

Why are Konami pimping out the Genex monsters like this? First they had the normal Genex monsters, then they came out with the Real Genx monsters to supplement them, and now they have the Ally Genex monsters. What is Konami's obsession with forcing the Genex monsters down our throats? It's getting almost as bad as the E-Heroes, only these monsters are limited to the Duel Terminals and the odd Limited Edition.
ShinobiPhoenix - 2009/09/16 13:17

Naturia Cardinal Guardians?

Something I just noticed about the Naturia's.

Out of the Synchros, there is 3 of fitting into a theme.

Naturia Beast is a Tiger
Naturia Balkion is a Dragon
and now Naturia Landors is a Turtle.

Sound familar?

In other words, one of the Naturia will need to be a Bird, because the last one of the theme is the PHOENIX!!

The last of the Cardinal Guardian Gods.

dingo (guest) - 2009/10/01 23:44

ah very cool, and interesting to know!

anybody know whats up with all the demon roar gods having a lil demon guy getting picked on in each?
TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/09/30 23:07

DT7 Reprint Cards

The reprint cards are kinda messed up here. So they decided to reprint Poly but Arkana Knight Joker and Dark Brightman (the two known [as there could be more] fusions in this set). The former has none of its Fusion Materials in this set and the latter has only one.
Using staples like Megamorph, Divine Wrath, Icarus Attack, Royal Oppression, and Limiter Removal are expected.
Why have Flute of Summoning Kuriboh if neither Kuriboh nor Hane Kuriboh are in this set?

TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/10/01 22:34

Spirit

Our very first Spirit monster in a Duel Terminal.

SynjoDeonecros - 2009/10/01 23:35

And an interesting one, at that; if you control another Ice Boundary monster, it forces 1 of your opponent's monster to return to its owner's hand instead of itself. They need to make more Spirit monsters like that; ones that take advantage of their self-bouncing effect.
HalfDemonInuyasha (guest) - 2009/10/02 01:36

reply

Well, it's really more of a monster, one-sided version of Spirit's Invitation. (Invitation forcing your opponent to return 1 of their monsters when 1 of your Spirits bounces itself.) Still, the thing that sucks about it is that, while it's a Spirit, it's still only for Ice Boundary-based Decks given the effect only works while you have it + another named one(s) on your field, so you can't exactly throw it into a Spirit-based Deck without turning a good portion of it into Ice Boundary monsters. (Which I will try at least, lol.)

Also, if the Demon Roar God Beasts do work when discarded in ANY way (which I have doubts on. Most likely by card effects.)...well...

Demon Roar God Beast - Casith (blow up 1 face-up card)
Demon Roar God Beast - Cerberal (Special Summon)
Demon Roar God Beast - Ganashia (Special Summon + beatstick)

...will be very broken. But like I said, it'll probably have to be by card effect like Dark Realm monsters and all to be able to work with the normal Demon Roar Gods, thus those discard cost cards don't end up nigh-free, lol.
Duo Maxwell (guest) - 2009/10/02 08:53

Pretty sure it works in whatever discarding way. You don't have an option to choose if you want the effect to activate or not. They will active whenever they are discarded, so there won't be any timing missing whatsoever like the Dark World monsters.
HalfDemonInuyasha (guest) - 2009/10/03 05:45

reply

Well, Dan did tell me over MSN that he was a tad biased when translating them, so it could be either way. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

As said, if they work when discarded in ANY way, then the ones I mentioned would end up being quite evil to me, especially since they would not miss the timing, meaning you could ditch them as costs and/or by effects normally or in the middle of chains and still get their effects when they start a new chain.

I mean...imagine using Divine Wrath and discarding Demon Roar God Beast - Casith for the cost. Negate an Effect Monster and destroy it AND destroy 1 other face-up card your opponent controls right after. Or, with the other 2, get a Special Summon out of it. Essentially, 1 card discard costs would become free almost like they were with 2 Night Assailants. (Just a small step below Night Assailant.)
SavrCosmicFighter - 2009/10/03 05:31

Nice Set

Dragunity have my attention again....i would like if these cards would come to America also but i'm still content w/ Brionac and Catastor coming out as well...would be cool deck to play in TCG

SynjoDeonecros - 2009/10/05 15:09

The picture for Demon Roar God Beast Chahua isn't available. Might want to check that.
