DarkSigner (guest) - 2009/07/22 20:21 - link

Wow, new set! Absolute Power Force is attack of Red Demon's Dragon which means cover card is probably Savior Demon's Dragon!!

belial marquis of darkness (guest) - 2009/07/25 23:52 - link

new Possilblites

maybe in this new set, the demonic roaring gods will come out. or new dark element synchros for the race that doesnt have one yet, like fiends. or maybe the dark synchros
Zero-kun (guest) - 2009/07/22 20:58 - link

Wow.

I hope this IS the new set... because that's a pretty cool name for a new pack. xD RED DEMONS DRAGON'S ATTACK D: ABSOLUTE POWARRRRFORCE.

DSD (guest) - 2009/07/22 21:02 - link

I am very pleased to see news on the upcoming set so soon.
The name sorta doesnt follow the patern of a Black colored Pack ( Shadow of infinity and Phantom Darkness) but its a good name choice.
Which gives many of us hope for the better Savior Synchro to come.

I can only hope that shriek removes the unconfirmed part to it, and then we can really start hoping for Savior Archfiend Dragon.

ShinobiPhoenix - 2009/07/23 19:09 - link

Not necessarily...

Black Set:

Invader of Darkness (OCG)
Metal Raiders (TCG)
Invasion of Chaos (TCG)
Shadow of Infinity
Phantom Darkness
Absolute Power Force

I think the name is more appropriate to what is in the set than matching any naming scheme.

Case in point:
Enemy of Justice is a White Set, while around it is Sanctuary in the Sky (OCG) and Light of Destruction.

Though, incidentally, all the Green Sets starting with Soul of the Duelist (Magic/Spell Ruler obviously didn't) have "the Duelist" in the name. If 701 ends up being "Glory of the Duelist" or "War of the Duelist" or something else, I'll laugh.
SavrCosmicFighter - 2009/07/22 21:34 - link

Cool Name

this will be good if its the real pack..maybe we'll see the Infinity monsters alongside Savior Demon Dragon

Fossil Fusion (guest) - 2009/07/22 23:05 - link

Antique Gear Statue might be in this!!

DSD (guest) - 2009/07/22 23:16 - link

i dont see the wisel infinity branch being printed so soon.
Maybe once we see it later on in the season.

Scion of the Flames (guest) - 2009/07/23 02:00 - link

They probably print the first 6 cards in this set. Then the Wisel (insert letter) 2-3 in the following sets.

I'm hoping they actually pay homage to the Ape cards. Would be nice. Also, they could make more like Flyer's ape(flying monkey) and Diver's Ape (seamonkey) lol.

I really want to see a Possessed Darc and (adjective) Darc. They could start with Laitoh the Light Charmer in the 700 series.

At anyrate I always thought this set would focus on Jack and Aki.
Medigo (guest) - 2009/07/23 09:50 - link

As far as I am concerned, we need only 1 set of Wisel cards
Wisel A3/Guard3 whatever, are entirely superfluous
Scion of the Flames (guest) - 2009/07/23 11:53 - link

They are for the moment anyway. It's not like these are Valon's Armor monsters or anything.
TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/07/23 04:36 - link

Absolute Power Force

Finally a Jack themed pack- Crimson Crisis did not count. This BETTER have Savior Demon Dragon (and it better not be nerfed if that is the case). They really did not mention the cover card, so...
I wonder what next set would be- Black Roseflare, wtf?

tysukuyomi (guest) - 2009/07/23 04:58 - link

meh

so much hype over this pack. will it even be good?

every dp to date, i have been dissapointed with. I hope this will be diffrent.
Umbra (guest) - 2009/07/23 14:07 - link

Hype over this pack?

This pack might possibly be the least hyped pack of all time.
HalfDemonInuyasha (guest) - 2009/07/23 20:44 - link

reply

Well, considering Savior Demon Dragon's effect, I would not be surprised if it did get nerfed to SOME degree...

Savior Demon Dragon (Synchro)
Dark/Dragon/10/4000/3000
"Salvation Dragon - Savior Dragon" + "Red Daemon's Dragon" + 1 non-Tuner Monster
Once per turn, you can negate the effect(s) of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls and increase the ATK strength of this card equal to the ATK strength of that monster until the End Phase. When your opponent activates an effect that would destroy this card, negate the activation and effect of that card, and inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the ATK strength of this card. When this card attacks, destroy all Defense Position monsters on the field at the end of the Damage Step. During the End Phase, return this card to the Extra Deck and Special Summon 1 "Red Daemon's Dragon" from your Graveyard.

1.) Effect negation + full ATK gain until the End Phase. Not a HUGE problem...except when coupled with 2.

2.) Coupled with 1, anything your opponent uses that would "destroy" it, regardless of being Magic, Trap, or Effect Monster (which is like...98% of removal effects these days) is negated and destroyed (NOT optional to activate) and your opponent takes 4000+ damage (depending on what modifies its ATK as it does NOT say "original" ATK...like using its first effect to negate and gain ATK, so negate a 2000+ ATK monster, it gains 2000+ ATK which means 2000+ more damage with that effect).

That is the kicker effect that I could see dumbed down a bit. Negate something like a DAD, gain 2800 ATK for 6800 ATK and smack that DAD for 4000 damage or your opponent uses something that would "destroy" it and that gets negated and opponent takes 6800 damage. Opponent can't even use things like Bottomless (as it still "destroys"), Torrential Tribute, Mirror Force, etc on it. They'd have to be lucky enough to use Solemn Judgment or some Special Summon negator or something like Divine Wrath or another Counter Trap to stop it (as they're Spell Speed 3 while SDD is Spell Speed 2) or something that happens to not "destroy" like Phoenix Wing Wind Blast, Dimensional Imprisonment, etc.

Of course, just happening to have Rainbow Life or Prime Material Dragon wouldn't hurt either XP, lol.

I could see it dumbed down to something like half of its original ATK (for 2000 each time) or something like that. But then again, they kept Savior Star Dragon exactly the same from the anime too, but when compared to this...it seems QUITE tame, lol.

3.) It merely needs to declare an attack and reach the Damage Step and anything in Defense Position dies at the end of the Damage Step. Again, not a huge deal as Defense is rarely played that often right now without effects forcing them to in Defense.

...the only real comfort the opponent could get is that, like Savior Star Dragon, Savior Demon Dragon only lasts for 1 turn unless you flip it face-down or something to "save" it much like Spirit Monsters and such.
OmegaBlack (guest) - 2009/07/23 16:33 - link

well

hopefully there be new deck type that become tier 1 :) just look at LS they got most of there support in 1 set komani should make a deck type where omst of the cards r in 1 set just like LS but a person can wish it happen :)

honky de leon (guest) - 2009/07/23 16:41 - link

awwwww sheeet

ABOSOLUTO PAWAFOOOOOOOOOSUUU!!!

total win name... screw the fact it doesn't follow the black set tradition :P

though... it's the black set... most likely something res/ban worthy will be abused here >_>

DSD (guest) - 2009/07/23 22:40 - link

I dont think the effect will be changed. For they didnt change Savior Stars, so why would they change demons?
i do think demon is way more powerful and think its more useful, but i dont see why anyone would change its effect. There isnt any Savior support, so theres no reason why the synchros cannot be amazing to compinsate for the lack of support
Kaiser (guest) - 2009/07/24 17:00 - link

Battlefader
Savior Fiend Dragon
Fiend Chain
High Ruler's Conquest (tal vez)
seguramente algunas de las cartas ke use jack en el ep 69 (proxima semana) saldran en esta edicion

it looks like that Konami Ran out of ideas ~.~

First of All , it been so long since the last Pack (Stardust Overdrive) and now they Need to release a new pack but they don't even have any cards to represent and they can't come out with a Great pack name , I mean seriously what is "Absolute powerforce" , I think they came out of ideas also they don't want to release the wisel monsters in real life (Obv since they didn't show them when they had the chance).

prove that they Ran out of ideas:

1-) they didn't show any cards
2-) they couldn't come out with a better name.
3-) Its unconfirmed so , they are trying to figure out a new name for the pack

but this is just my opinion... =\

but their is still a possibility that the wisel monsters may come out since it fits a little the pack name ... how ever I still don't like the pack name , seriously couldn't they find a creative name like they used to do? =\

danlive5454 - 2009/07/25 04:13 - link

I beg to differ

I think Absolute Powerforce could be the set to change the meta, although you can't really base whats going to be in a set on the name, unless it's connected to a card (Absolute Powerforce evidentally being the name of Savior Demon's Dragon's attack) Also, black sets tend to be the most influential ones. Hopefully we will get some cards everyone could benefit from. Less archetypal stuff and more commonly usable spells and traps.
Anyone (guest) - 2009/07/25 16:57 - link

Konami has already trademarked the name, that's the reason we already know the name -_- and they "didn't show any cards" because is very early, the set isn't even officially announced yet, the first true info of the cards will be in the November Issue of V-Jump (September 21)
And... what do you mean with "they didn't show the Wisel monsters"??
darknesss powerr rulessss23 - 2009/07/25 16:47 - link

cool

i thogut savior demon dragon was in stardust overdrive i was waiting for something cool in the new pack and this is not bad

Chewydog - 2009/08/14 19:56 - link

they need to bring out advanced darkness in this pack if they need ideas then use the anime cards including some arcana force cards and maybe sum dragon monsters like a blue eyes white dragon synchro they already made the tuner so lets make the dragon no?
OmegaBlack (guest) - 2009/07/25 17:04 - link

wondering

what new deck types will change the meta so thing cool :)

The-Strawhat - 2009/07/25 20:32 - link

l

i hope there will come a new rock series

OmegaBlack (guest) - 2009/07/30 04:13 - link

anying rumor cards

any1 know what in this set anying rumor u guys like 2 share XD

ScionoftheFlames (guest) - 2009/07/31 10:35 - link

Whatever's featured in this set will most likely be cards from the anime in months of june-september. Most likely July cards for the most part. Which means maybe the first six Wisel cards,
Ancient Gear Statue,
Kid Junk, Paternal Junk, maternal Junk
Smile Kid,
And the Loan Token monsters.

And whatever monsters Jack played against Carly and Rex.
At least that's for the monster.

Scrap Iron Barricade ftw!

Chewydog - 2009/08/04 03:03 - link

can u say

MAJESTIC ARCHFIEND DRAGON's pack that exatctly what this is and i got a hunch that more earth bound immortals r here i hope its the zombie one or a plant one would be nice and futher more the savior monsters were created to crush the earth bound immortals btw im american

Yuginshin (guest) - 2009/08/06 00:25 - link

Fail

There are no more Earthbound God's all of them have been released. This pack would most likely have Savior Daemon's Dragon as the Cover Card.

Not really created to crush Earthbound Immortals they are meant to save the signer from losing.

No one cares if you are American at all. I personally believe that you kind sir fail hard. If you would look at your post there are no periods at all and i couldn't read it, on the other hand, it made no sense.
RedEyesFan - 2009/08/07 15:23 - link

dont be so harsh...

chewyk9 should had just started his first day of school and realised he is an american, not a human.

but i still partially agree with Yuginshin as 4kids totally ruin the whole 5D anime.
TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/08/04 06:02 - link

Authenticity of this Pack

YGO Wikia has deleted the information on the "Absolute Powerforce" page. Several moderators say that since there is no release date information or any known cover cards, the pack must be fake.
They are correct, so as of now, it is impossible for anyone to speculate. I will wait for further information to see if the pack being released in Q4 2009 is this pack or something else.
EDIT: I'm not saying that the pack is fake, but I'm also not saying it's real either. Usually they would have some tenative release date, cover card, or any types of strategies that this set will cover. The only reason why I thought Stardust Overdrive was fake because the news came out on April 1, but it had a release date and a cover card information on that day.
EDIT2: FInally, HERE'S the information that certifies this pack. I wasn't saying that the pack was fake; I was saying it was mere speculation until we had some real information. Now we can almost certain that this is official. It will be released in 3 months and will have Savior Demon Dragon as the cover card. I wonder just how NERFED it will end up to be.

RedEyesFan - 2009/08/04 10:21 - link

is there a point for us to know how that copy and paste wikia not find this pack true?
ShinobiPhoenix - 2009/08/04 19:06 - link

And you had to tell us you were going to wait...

As if you had a choice?

If YGO Wikia-English deleted it, it's because people will keep adding malicious and untrue information constantly to it until the real stuff is out and people are horrible about that. This happened with Stardust Overdrive and Raging Battle-EN.

"They are correct?" About deleting it to prevent vandalism, yes. About this set being fake, ABSOLUTELY NOT. No one knows more than someone else right. We'll all know in time.

Again, cite what happened with Stardust Overdrive if YGO-Wikia is so omniscient for a wikia engine where anyone anywhere can add in what they want.
Manjyome Thunder - 2009/08/10 13:37 - link

*Sees them adding it again now*

Stardust Overdrive was hilarious. Getting the info for a set on the "worst" day possible. Not everything that looks like must necessarily be an April's Fool ;)
Scion of the Flames (guest) - 2009/08/10 13:55 - link

Yes! Aha! So, they decided to go with the end of the ssn2 arc.

Ending of the Arc included Aki, Misty, and the epic showdown with Goodwin!
Let us see, that includes Aki's Rose Witch and Fairy, Misty's two remaining Reptillis. I hope all of Misty's remaining Spell/traps get printed. Most likely several are. And Aki is in dire need of her cards getting printed. She may only have two unprinted monsters but her spell/traps(especially traps) are very few. I hope for Rose Flame and Rose Blizzard and Curse of Rose. Her deck is clearly specifically Rose themed(sprinkled with some thorny seasoning of course).

TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/08/10 16:34 - link

Absolute Powerforce is REAL!!!!

Yeah, it's been 3 weeks of unconfirmed speculation and now we finally have the proof to say that this set is real.
So they have decided to release the cards of the main characters that were not released (such as Jack or Aki's) or cards the Dark Signers have not used. It only looks like Misty and Goodwin's cards will be released. That could possibly mean Misty having her Reptiless Servant/Gorgon, Bad End Queen Dragon, Sad Story cards. As for Goodwin, we have his Sun and Moon Dragons (which CAN be released because Dark Synchros are now becoming actual Synchros), and several of his trap cards.
I had a feeling they wouldn't be releeasing any of those cards from the third arc. After all, you can't really play a Wisel Infinity Deck in the OCG. Also, what is with all of those filler character decks?

Fossil Fusion (guest) - 2009/08/10 18:40 - link

Yay

Sad Stories and Reptiless Guardna/Servant?

Nazca Dragons?

Maybe the Apes? :x
Scion of the Flames (guest) - 2009/08/10 22:59 - link

But I like the filler character decks. It's fresh to see such a multitude of short-hand strategies introduced. Whether or not they are released in the OCG. All the filler episodes feel like Summer Break, and going back to school will be going back to the plot. Aki is getting her D-Wheeler license in a few eps!

(PS. My captcha word is boges?)
honkydeleon (guest) - 2009/08/11 18:35 - link

...

ABSORUTO PAWAAAFOOOSUUU

I can never get tired of saying that XD

still... hopefully that's not all of it... I mean... NO CROW CARDS? and it says from the Dark Signer Arc; no probably no new cards shown after that :/

and this is supposed to be the Black Set...

though since Misty is mentioned... I really have a feeling Sad Story cards will be printed. as well as the Sun and Moon Dragons of Godwin.

rewind (guest) - 2009/08/11 20:01 - link

Majestic red dragon archfiend

Man i am gonna hate that name. Thats what it was with savior stardust dragon. so im am peeved

TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/08/11 21:09 - link

re: rewind

Nope, the name of Savior Star Dragon in the TCG is "Majestic Star Dragon."
So it's safe to assume that Savior Demon Dragon will be named "Majestic Archfiend Dragon."
Wolfgang DelaSangre (guest) - 2009/08/12 02:50 - link

Actually...

Majestic Fiend Dragon. This one isn't an Archfiend (Daemon).
TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/08/12 03:01 - link

re: Wolfgang DelaSangre

Actually, Savior Demon's Dragon is akin to Red Demon's Dragon.
rewind (guest) - 2009/08/13 00:25 - link

I realyl dilike the new names for saviors

whos with me
Scion of the Flames (guest) - 2009/08/14 06:23 - link

Hate is a strong word-but you really, really, really don't like it. lol

Come now. Savior is an awesome name, and although Majestic isn't exactly the same, it's still not a dip in the mud either. Be glad no names like Koaki' Meiru were born . . . The dubbers were being "Anti-clever" with that one.
Wolfgang DelaSangre (guest) - 2009/08/14 07:54 - link

To be fair

It's "Red Daemon's Dragon".
Chewydog - 2009/08/14 20:05 - link

that makes me wonder...

why call it majestic archfiend dragon ? aint nothin majestic about archfiends.(LOL) they were used in the past but i think that people should use'em again.why? they r easy to use and they have great suport now but no one's noticed it yet and there have been BIG hints.
DarkSigner (guest) - 2009/08/11 21:12 - link

Awesome! Looks like they didn't forget Dark Signer cards!
I am hoping for Sad Story series altough they won't keep their Anime effects.
Same thing for Godwin's Monsters and few Traps like Meteor Prominence and Eternal Stone.

tysukuyomi (guest) - 2009/08/12 09:45 - link

I want that counter that goodwin used, it's like divine wrath, but without the discard cost. I could use it for my C. faeries xD
Chewydog - 2009/08/14 19:52 - link

Daaamn

i thought i was right unfotunatly i did'nt get the 1st comment at least im at 50

Kaiser (guest) - 2009/08/25 17:32 - link

moon dragon

Superandroid23 (guest) - 2009/08/31 17:40 - link

I'd really like to see the dark tuner & synchro monsters. I hope there's a new BES monster in this one.

ShadowChaoZ (guest) - 2009/09/01 17:59 - link

Actually...

that's not a bad point. If the dark synchros are coming out as regular synchros, who's to say that at least a few of the dark tuners won't be remade as regular tuners? Although, if all of them are remade, there should be more level 9-12 synchros. And not the ones that say "+ 2 or more non-Tuner monsters" because with Nightmare Hand being level 10 and 3 of them being level 8+, they wouldn't be worth using over fewer, low-level monsters.
ShadowChaoZ (guest) - 2009/09/01 18:05 - link

EDIT:

"...with Nightmare Hand being level 10 and 3 of them being level 8+,..."
with 4 of the dark tuners at level 8+, Nightmare Hand being level 10,

"...they wouldn't be worth using over fewer, low-level monsters."
they wouldn't be worth using over more, medium-level monsters.
Mad-Deck-Creator (guest) - 2009/09/05 01:23 - link

Hope never dies...

I hope this set will come out with some cool insects. I mean, Stardust Overdrive have the Spiders, but for my opinion they suck a little : /. I preferred the Scary Moth and the Shiny Black "C"... Well, let's hope seriously. Would be nice if will come out the bee used in the Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's Manga :Q___
aussieman000 (guest) - 2009/09/16 11:07 - link

niiiiiiiiiiice. I think i like this set already.

Savior Synchros are lame though.

Kotori - 2009/09/16 11:18 - link

So far so good

Thanks Shriek for the updated info..

So far the set seems good to me, such as Drill Synchron and Drill Warrior (Must thanks those contest winners for creating these monsters), Yusei's new Droid-like monsters (quite beneficial to a basic Synchro Deck) and Holy Light, which is seriously broken against DARK deck (once again another invention by Lightlords and a killing machine to BF and A.O.J's)

Although some card were balanced:
BattleFader, which removed from itself once it is removed from the field.

Treasure of Harmony which now required a Dragon-Type Tuner to draw 2 cards instead of the anime version of only a Tuner, although there are still only a few Dragon-Type Tuners, it seems beneficial towards Dragunity Decks, and even Junk and Debris Deck.

Savior Demon Dragon, its anime effect of "When an opponent's card's effect that would destroy this card is activated, negate it and destroy it. Then, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the ATK of this card." is replaced with "This card cannot be destroyed by card effects"

Overall, this set might be as good as Stardust Overdrive, Savior Demon Dragon is still good and this set may have decent supports!! Hopefully, more good cards will be in this set.

ShinobiPhoenix - 2009/09/16 12:08 - link

I'll be lazy and copy/pasta what I already said:

-- There's a Normal Monster in the set?!! That's like finding the unicorn.

-- Drill Synchron, yea, but going to get nerfed because the anime version makes Infernity Dwarf pointless as all hell.

-- Obvious nerf on Battle Fader. I mean damn, it only comes out with a direct attack and still they couldn't let it be intact.

-- Let me get this straight. Black Potan, which is a DARK/Demon, HEALS while White Potan, which is LIGHT/Angel, BURNS. IS THIS BIZARRO WORLD? SO many strange and nerfed cards in my Black Set, will White be the broken one this time in Bizarro World?

-- Shretsudder = VERY nice.

-- Holy Light... WOW... finally. "DAD and Black Feather meet Holy Light. Holy Light, what do you say when you meet new friends?"
Holy Light: "YOU GO TO HELL, YOU GO TO HELL AND YOU DIE!!"
Me: "That's not very nice, Holy Light."

-- Saviour Daemon Dragon: His Ring of Destruction power BETTER BE INTACT!!!!

-- Drill Warrior: WHY DID THEY TAKE AWAY HIS STRIKE NINJA POWER?!!!!!!!! Now he's just a weird direct attacking delayed Monster Reincarnation.

-- Treasure of Harmony: I knew they'd nerf that, but GOD DAMN.

-- Daemon's Chain: Makes me VERY happy in my pants.

All and all, mixed feeling due to the NERFS, but I like so far. Konami went vengeance strike on DAD, but not GB or Lightlords. Someone is sucking someone's dick hard to get Lightlords up to snuff.

Amon (guest) - 2009/09/16 12:20 - link

BEWD still hasn't been forgotten.

So they balanced Treasury of Harmony when they changed it to need Dragon-Type Tuners of 1000 ATK or less. I know Dragunity is the first thought of some of you, but for me? Unh-unh. Can you say...Blue-Eyes White Dragon? 'cause Treasury of Harmony may have just given it a HUGE power boost.

MasterSephiroth - 2009/09/16 12:41 - link

Treasure of Harmony

This card is just wow...^^...it's the perfect draw-engine for Dragunity. Until now, every Dragon-Tuner used by Dragunity Decks all have 1000 ATK or less. I mean "Dragunity - Phalanx" (500 ATK) and "Dragunity - Black-Spear" (1000 ATK) were meant to be in the Graveyard (Debris Dragon should be in your hand, but if you don't have anything to summon in your graveyard, then you better discard it to draw 2 cards...by the way, it's ATK is 1000). With this new "Dragunity Knight - Trident" (Lv 7), hopefully a good effect, Dragunity is getting better and better (even known, they were allready good with only 1 (!) set of cards until now). With Limited Edition 17, "Transform Sphere" is hitting the real world. This card is perfect using with "Debris Dragon", to summon "Black Rose Dragon" or this new "Dragunity Knight - Trident". And it has a effect, to take the opponents monster as an Equip card (if it has the same effect as in the manga) by discarding 1 card (the dragon tuners^^). I'm loving it.

Absolute Powerforce Spoilers: 9/16/09

1): Oh shit! They're releasing those crap monsters (001-003).
2): Drill Synchron is a Rare but its effect still stays the same. You draw 1 card if you inflict Battle Damage through this effect.
3): Jack's three monsters keep the same effects as in the anime.
4): So we get a "Black" version of Portan that gains LP as opposed to burns?
5): Shretshudder FTW!
6): Holy Light is also a decent card.
7): SDD's effect has been somewhat nerfed, I can tell. It still keeps its stats though.
8): Drill Warrior keeps its crap effect.
9): Treasure of Harmony has a shit requirement. For 2 cards, hell, I'd rather use Greed Grado.
10): Variety Out is a decent card for swarming the field and/or Advance Summon but still kinda meh.
11): Subliming Soul is a good card for Rituals. There was always a problem with losing hand advantage through Ritual Summons.
12): Yeah the pots suck except for Greed and Avarice.
13): Synchro Control is a beast card in early game.
14): Demon's Chain is a good card right there. Since MOST of the heavy hitters in the game ARE effect monsters, not only are their attacks negated but also their effects. Jack, gotta say, impressive.

SynjoDeonecros - 2009/10/04 22:08 - link

1. I wouldn't consider the Cyclers crap cards. One, they can be used for that all-important deck-thinning; two, they can be used with Minoan Centaur in a Barbaros Ur Skill Drain deck, and three, summoning them from your hand or deck is a pretty good effect for a Gadget-like searcher, and could work rather well in a Gadget deck.
2. IF the card-drawing effect is a real effect in it, then yes it's pretty awesome.
8. How is Drill Warrior crap? 1200 direct damage isn't that bad of a deal, and a self-Dimensionhole with recursion effect added in is a pretty sweet deal. Yes, you won't have it on the field for an attack or to save yourself from the opponent, but smart players will be able to use its effect reliably.
9. I dunno; there are 6 Tuners in the OCG that fit, currently, and The White Stone of Legend is one of them, perfect for Hopeless Dragon decks. The rest can easily be recalled with that one trap that summons monsters with 1000 ATK or less. It's not too big of a deal.
12. Pot of Selflessness is basically a Normal Spell version of The Transmigration Prophecy. I'd say that makes it rather good, myself, especially if it means you can get a start on killing the opponent's DAD or Lightsworn strategies early.
DarkSigner (guest) - 2009/09/16 21:38 - link

Well we have lot of new cards here :D
Treasure of Harmony HAD TO BE NERFED.Requiring any Tuner would make it really abusable.Still this card has uses, with Debris Dragon, Savior Dragon and White Stone .
Jack's Monsters mainly were kept intact, Battle Fader removes itself ( obviosly this balances the effect), Bloody Tears Ogre and Supplier kept same effects. SDD is alos one of cards which needed effect change but still is very powerful.
Drill Synchron's effect is still good and Drill Warrior adds ONLY Monsters now ( so it is more balanced than Anime version)
Cyclers are realesed with intact effects with Unycycler as Normal Monster :D
Still hoping to see will be more support for themes of previous sets like Reptilless, Aliens , Spiders or such.

TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/09/17 00:57 - link

1): Yeah it had to be nerfed. Too many Tuners in the game. But outside DT, there are hardly any "Dragon-Type tuners with 1000 or less ATK" in the game. Really, this card makes Greed Grado more useful by comparison.
2): Battle Fader is a decent card especially against direct attacks. BTO is also a decent card. At least Power Supplier's effect is a once per turn thing so you can give any monster you control 400 ATK during each of your turns.
3): Drill Synchron is a good card for hand advantage but Drill Warrior is kinda meh.
4): The biggest mistake they made in Absolute Powerforce- releasing those CRAP "cycler" cards. They have NO use in the game and it just wastes whatever 3 cards it could have been in the set. If this somehow prevents Aki from putting in her monsters, I'll go ballistic.
5): Well we already have decent "other" monsters. Shretsudder is an especially awesome card and it might compliment with the Union cards (V-Z may be in Structure Deck 18). There is no real incidence of any archetype support in this yet.
HalfDemonInuyasha - 2009/09/17 04:18 - link

reply

Well, just like with One Hundred-Eye Dragon, I have a feeling it wasn't so much "nerfing" as it was simply printing it so it would work the same way it was used in the anime (which also can be a variation of "nerfed" I suppose)

1.) Treasure of Harmony, anime-wise, did have it as a Destiny Draw for Tuners. However, with the way it's printed, it matches exactly how it was used in the anime; Yusei discarding Debris Dragon to draw 2 cards; Debris Dragon being a Dragon-Type Tuner Monster with 1000 ATK (or less makes it more flexible though).

2.) As said, Battle Fader balances itself out with its Bolt Hedgehog removal effect. Power Supplier is actually slightly different, IIRC. I believe, anime-wise, it merely was a 400 ATK increase once per turn until the End Phase. However, this one let's it KEEP the 400 ATK while Supplier lives. So you can, in 2 different turns, have 2 different monsters gain 400 ATK while Supplier face-up on the field OR have 1 monster gain 800 ATK while Supplier is face-up on the field.

3.) Drill Synchron is BETTER than its anime counterpart. Last I checked, the anime version only worked for 1 monster per turn. Now, however, it completely blankets ALL your monsters, so ALL your monsters essentially become an Airkinight Parshath while it's face-up on the field. Drill Warrior is, overall, the same...just more balanced; discard 1 card instead of 2, but in exchange, you only take back a monster rather than any card.

4.) Why not just wait and see? Considering their "family" and all, they probably have some use coming up in the future...like maybe a Fusion or something like that.

5.) Well, we'll probably get some Union Monsters and/or Union m/t support in this.

...and the one thing I didn't see mentioned is the obvious NERFING of Savior Demon Dragon, just like I thought it would XD. Understandable since, as I said, it could easily be an OTK with its burn, so the 1 turn it stays out is MORE than enough to win. Keeps everything else though, I'd assume since the negation portion is ?, but I'd assume it'd stay the same and it'd gain the ATK of that monster for the turn.

Anyway, with just his little bit of info we have right now, I'm already LOVING the Set. Can't wait to see what else we get later on! ^^
Gladiator_Beast_Venatores (guest) - 2009/09/17 00:05 - link

I have a feeling gladiator beasts are gonna be in this set if not the next.

ShinobiPhoenix - 2009/09/17 10:33 - link

Change Destiny huh?

I would assume it would have close to the anime effect.

Negate the attack of 1 monster your opponent controls. Your opponent then selects and activates one of the following effects:
● You gain Life Points equal to the ATK of the monster.
● Your opponent takes damage equal to half the ATK of the monster.

ShoDan (guest) - 2009/09/17 15:12 - link

Holy ... light

Seriously what is wrong with them. I never seen such a evil card before. This completly destroyed blackwings and dark decks and is just zo epic broken.

The monster cannot be destroyed by battle with dark monsters and your opponennt cant special summon dark monsters.

If the effect was something like this it would be in alot of side decks and it would be a great card. But they had to make it broken and just to damn evil. But no you dont take battle damage ether. And dark monsters cant attack.... You serious. That alone makes it broken. If it couldent be destroyed by battle you could maybe use a dark monster that destroyed him at the end of the turn by effect. BUT NO you cant freaking attack. And you think maybe this would be enough. Complete lockdown no attacks no special summon no damage cant die in battle. But no you cant normal summon monsters..... O M G...

I cant believe its real. In your first turn summon this card in attack mode againt a dark deck and he can hope for a smashing ground of vortex or else. He lost.... No summon no attack.. no nothing. It was bad enough that gale is at 1. But come on this is just cruel.

Buttt a very big butt. Most of the time in packs they release a dark and light counterpart. Like dark effigy and light effigy and so many more cards. So im geussing there could be Holy dark to stop light monsters. No more lightsworns then. And that means that glads will be number one. Seriously this must be a joke how can a card be that freaking broken and evil.

SynjoDeonecros - 2009/09/17 17:30 - link

It's obvious; Konami is getting desperate to break the metagame. They tried it with the Koa'Ki Meiru monsters and failed, so now they're moving on to tackling them head-on, or through an otherwise-underused monster type - Rituals. You can't tell me that the Effects that the Ritual Fiends give Ritual monsters aren't designed to give the middle finger to the meta; it's quite obvious that they are. This latest one specifically says "Bend Synchros over and make them your bitch" right on its effect. That's probably why they limited Demise to 1; with the Ritual Fiends, he's insane.
TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/09/17 22:44 - link

New Cards: Absolute Powerforce, Part 2

So 4 new cards came up in the scans...

Seems Ritual is back for a second set in a row (impressive, to think Ritual will be hanging around). Just like last set's Ritual pair, this set requires the Ritual Monster to only be Ritual Summoned using that card.
The Ritual monster's effect, when Ritual Summoned, can destroy all face-up monsters whose DEF is weaker than this card's ATK, 2500. So yeah, wouldn't this card also count? Judging by the next effect where it gains ATK points, I guess not.
Also, by removing the Ritual spell from the Graveyard, an effect can activate. So cards will be sent back to the owners' deck (or Extra Deck if one counts Synchros) if face-up Ritual monsters declare an attack. They're doing this to get rid of dumping cards in the grave.

In a pack where the majority of the cards are crap, Enchanter is actually a very BROKEN card. Synchros are nothing without their effects. It and Holy Light were made to break this Synchro metagame.
Change Destiny is an interesting card; seems to me it'll have the same effect as in the anime (half LP gain, half LP burn).

ShinobiPhoenix - 2009/09/17 23:39 - link

About Garlandolph

That's a good point about the text. There must be a slight mistake in that translation due to the blur and it is actually "all other face-up" monsters.

Otherwise, it should kill itself, Jurac Meteor and Black Rose Dragon certainly do.
An Onyx Mouse - 2009/09/18 00:23 - link

Rituals are definitely making a comeback here.

Ritual of Destruction + Ritual Devil Releaser + Ritual Devil Curse Enchanter...total metagame shutdown. Not many monsters in the game (including only about 10% of Synchro Monsters, not including many fan favorites) are strong enough to survive Garandolph's effect, and with Curse Enchanter negating their effects, even the "almighty" Stardust is powerless against it. Wipe out their front row, gain a powerful monster, and shunt them down to Normal Summons for only 2 cards from your hand (+2 more from your Graveyard.)

I've never made any effort to hide how much I like Ritual Monsters, so between Stardust Overdrive and this set, I'm definitely a happy camper. :]
cybergx - 2009/09/18 02:21 - link

Regarding Garlandolph

His effect states "destroy all other monsters...". Garlandolph isn't suicidal, like BRD or Jurac Meteor.

Oh, and BTW, Holy Light says "good-bye" to Blackwings.
aussieman000 (guest) - 2009/09/18 03:48 - link

Well, it can be countered...

Mained Skill Drain and Book of Moon would help, and you can still set cards to be tributed by Icarus Attack.

I think it hurts generic dark decks much more.
HalfDemonInuyasha - 2009/09/18 04:04 - link

reply

Actually, it's for Black Feathers mostly. They just happen to all be DARK. The fact that it can't die in battle with them AND you take no Battle Damage from battles with DARK monsters (with 0 ATK, ALL of them would be able to kill it normally unless they also had 0 ATK). DARK monsters being unable to attack makes those Armored Wing or others after Gale of the Hurricane and/or Scirocco pretty much useless. Being unable to Normal OR Special Summon DARK monsters is pretty obvious; no spamming out some Black Feathers, then hitting after using their effects. And it even prevents the opponent from getting out Black Feather - Silver Wind the Isolated, which would've been able to kill it with its effect if they could Special Summon.

In terms of Garlandolph, also don't forget that not only does his destruction effect only work when Ritual Summoned, but it is also MANDATORY (like Jurac Meteor), not optional (like Black Rose Dragon or Demise). So you also have to make sure to time it more properly if you don't want something you want to stay out ending up being destroyed by carelessly Ritual Summoning Garlandolph.

Also don't forget that, in terms of the Ritual Devils, you can't use all 3 unless you Ritual Summon a Level 9+ Ritual Monster (that doesn't need exact Levels at least).

Remember, you cannot PURPOSELY go over the required Levels when Ritual Summoning a Ritual Monster, so you can't choose to try to Ritual Summon a Level 7 Ritual Monster like Garlandolph or Norsewemko or something and remove all 3 Ritual Devils (3 + 4 + 4 = 11) from your Graveyard just so you can get all 3 of the effects. You'd have to remove only 2 of them and that's it. (3 + 4 = 7 or 4 + 4 = 8.)

So even if the Ritual Monster is Level 8, if you have all 3 Ritual Devils in your Graveyard, you could only remove Presider (4) and Curse Enchanter (4) to match Level 8 since removing Releaser (3) among them would end up purposely going over the required Levels. (It doesn't matter which order you would want to remove them either, so you couldn't remove Presider or Curse Enchanter, then Releaser, and THEN the last one.)

And, at present, there is NO Level 9+ Ritual Monsters to use, so they essentially caught us in our thoughts of trying to use all of them at the same time to prevent them from being TOO evil like that x_x;; .
An Onyx Mouse - 2009/09/18 07:31 - link

True, but then again...

Presider's effect could easily be passed on in this scenario. Locking out their ability to Special Summon and locking the effects of any Synchro Monsters that somehow survive his monster-nuke are both sufficiently superior to drawing a card on destroying a monster in battle, especially considering any monsters he -could- destroy that way just got destroyed in a completely different way.
Amon (guest) - 2009/09/18 08:56 - link

Uhm, you can definitely use Contract with the Abyss and Advanced Ritual Art to summon Garlandorph. If it truly REQUIRED you to use Ritual of Destruction, IT WOULD SAY SO IN ITS SUMMON CONDITION TEXT. Instead, what you see is the standard fare for every. single. Ritual Monster in the TCG and OCG.

Keep that in mind next time you comment on any Ritual Monster.
ShinobiPhoenix - 2009/09/18 11:47 - link

What point does it make to bring up Contract or Advanced?

Since we're being snarky toward other people, you might not want to leave such an open logic hole.

If you use Contract, the monsters still need to be on hand or field to sac. In which case, it not only needs to be EXACT, but it wouldn't be any different or special compared to Ritual of Destruction except that you just restricted yourself to only being able to use 7 stars instead of overlapping. In other words, it's a worse move.

And if you use Advanced Ritual Art... well, you very much can kiss using the Ritual Devils or Ritual Raven goodbye and render this whole topic of using their effects pointless. Or did you forget it needs Normal Monsters?

Since we're so good at reading summoning text, how about reading summoning text on the other cards?

"Keep that in mind next time you comment..." on anything in the future.

All that said, HalfDemon: I'm not entirely you that you can't do the rearrangement. Isn't there a puzzle in one of the EX games involving just that? Something so you can dump 3 monsters with a single ritual. I'd say to just try it in an EX game or Tag Force and see what happens. I'll try it soon as I build a deck in Tag Force 3 to do it. I'm not saying it is or it isn't, but I think it should be checked instead of just assuming it will or won't work. It probably won't (old puzzles were glitched) but still should be attempted.

And "cybergx": The text was EDITED to include the missing "all other" part after it was brought up, we can read you know.
Amon (guest) - 2009/09/18 21:12 - link

That was one hundred percent unnecessary, asshole. Way to completely blow the fuck up when I was correcting his mistake on interpreting summon condition texts.

Re: Shinobi Phoenix

No need for the attitude. I didn't even know this article was edited at the time I created my post. I was under the assumption that everything was as I first saw it. When I saw the posts there, I figured someone might've read over that part of the card's effect. It's just a simple misunderstanding, that's all.

People can be dorks

ANYWAYS, back to 'Holy Light':
Yeah, not only is it the bane of BFs, but it saves LIGHT decks (well, Lightlords obviously) from the AOJs as well, especially Catastor and (even MORE especially) Decisive Arms.

And in anyone's opinion, do the new Ritual support cards make any older (pre-SOI) Ritual Monsters any more useable? I ask because, and this is just off the top of my head, you could potentially make a Ritual/Synchro deck that focuses taking away your opponent's monsters for tuning with (even their Synchros so you can use Variety Out) via Reshef?

I like new Ritual support! Amazing! Konami tries to make it more Anti Synchro to help out Rituals agains them .
Drill Synchron's effect is ONCE PER TURN, which makes it balanced, so it won't join Gale on Limited list.Still it is good Tuner.card Adavantage is always welcome.
Drill Warrior HAD TO BE BALANCED.It's effect is decent at least, you can recover Drill Synchron, Quck Synchron and other Monsters. I wonder about effect of Change Destiny.... Demon's Cahin is really good.

I'm sure it'll have the same effect it did in the show.
Cancel an opponent's attack, then make them choose whether they increase their own LP by half of the attacking monster's ATK, or hit you for damage for the same amount.

Relinquished

Relinquished-Anti-Meta is gonna be amazing with this set and SOVR.

ShiroRyu - 2009/09/19 17:59 - link

Maybe ABPF-JP038 will also be a Ritual monster or support since it's in between Ritual Support and a Ritual Monster.
Garlandolph's name makes me think of a mix of Gandalf and Ganondorf lol. XP His effect is pretty neat, though it won't get around Stardust negation unfortunately (since his effect is mandatory too), unless you play it with...

Ritual Devil Curse Enchanter is pretty awesome for Ritual support. Usage for Ritual Summoning while in the Graveyard is pretty neat (helps that he's DARK too), and negating Synchro monster's effects is a big plus in the current format, but you'll have to protect that Ritual monster from dying to other things (namely Compulsory, Bottomless, even Book of Moon). Still, it's better neat.
Mind you, Synchros without their effects are not necessarily dead - Colossal Fighter can still reborn itself and a lot of Synchros can run over most Rituals (with the exception of Shinato who has a godly amount of ATK AND works with Honest just to be safe, and Relinquished who can suck up something big like a Judgment Dragon).

If Rituals went in the Extra Deck instead of the Main Deck they would probably become amazing.

Holy Light seems a bit awesome, especially for countering Blackwing, Ally of Justice etc. I imagine we'll see a DARK version of it too to help balance Lightsworns either in this set or a future set.

nggakboleh (guest) - 2009/09/19 19:14 - link

ehhh...Colossal can't Reborn itself when Enchanter'ed Ritual is face-up on the field, Enchanter negates the effect of and any Synchros, not just the ones on the field
ShiroRyu - 2009/09/20 02:44 - link

Good point. Still, I'm hoping Konami will come up with some more cool Ritual monsters (no more Lycanthropes or Chulainns please, give us more cool stuff like Garlandolph, Demise, Shinato etc.). In fact, I think it'd be neat if Konami gave us a whole archetype of Rituals that actually worked together and in a way that'd make them competitive (like how Lightlords, Glad Beasts, BlackFeathers, etc. do). And I don't just mean "hurr demise otk" or any other kind of otk, it might do with having one but I would like to see more of a all-round themed ritual deck.
They're releasing quite a few in the form of the Ritual Devils and the 'Chaos Rituals' (Demise, Ruin, Garandolph and Norsewemko) but I would like to see some more low-level (1 - 6) rituals that have decent effects (yes, there's Relinquished, but everyone and their nanny knows about him because he's ages old, bring in some new!).
An Onyx Mouse - 2009/09/20 09:46 - link

re: ShiroRyu

No arguments here whatsoever, except on the "Rituals in Extra Deck" thing...then most of their support would go dead. Senju's effect would become pointless, Manju would be downgraded to Sonic Bird with Honest compatibility, and Preparations would go from a +1 in hand to Ritual Spell retrieval. Ew, ick, yuck, no thanks, I'll pass.

Anyway, I'd especially love to a see a Lv 2 and Lv 5 Ritual, if for no other reason than to cover every level from 1 to 8...then maybe give us some Lv 9-12 Rituals just for the sakes of completeness and absolute absurdity. :] But yeah, definitely give the low levels some love. Relinquished, Doriado, and Paladin deserve some love/company. :]

Another thing I wouldn't mind seeing is another "catch-all" Ritual like Advanced Ritual Art...maybe something that only works on Lv 1-7s and can only use Ritual Devils for fodder?

Speaking of Ritual Devils...Curse Enchanter is #37 of the set, and Garandolph is 39. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's figuring on 38 being a Lv 3 Ritual Devil to pair with Curse Enchanter, but any guesses on the effect? I'm guessing something mediocre-but-still-decent like granting a small ATK boost to the Ritual Monster it's used to bring out. Maybe have art of a fat little demon flexing and trying to look macho or something. XD

Granted, with Garandolph, even something like a 500-ATK boost would pretty much make him a field-wipe. (Wait...I say this like it's a bad thing?)

EDIT: 11/10/09 - Rats. Precogster's nowhere near as cool as I was hoping...I can see some use for discard effects, but really, in the current meta, where the Graveyard is less a hinderance and so much more a utility, is that -really- a good idea?
Killey (guest) - 2009/09/20 02:45 - link

hmm...

Battlefader could have potential to being a main deck choice in the future meta. It's a specified threatening roar in monster form. It has it's weaknesses but has some potential I think.

Drill Warrior has potential to create loops and broken combos, imo. The ability to return ANY card from your Graveyard to your hand seems pretty damn useful to me. The cost doesn't even seem that bad since there are a ton of cards that benefit being in the graveyard then on the field or in your hand. Yeah, you lose him for a turn but plan your strategy correctly and you can net back some key cards back to your hand. I think the only downside is his Synchro material requirements. Otherwise, this card's effect has potential to be exploited in a multitude of ways.

ShinobiPhoenix - 2009/09/20 16:40 - link

TheD (guest) - 2009/09/21 02:15 - link

I just whated to replay to that Change Destiny card. Your opponent selects an effect of the person that activated the card to apply. So if the opponent selected gain Lif Points the person that activated Change Destiny gains Life Points. Or if the opponent select inflict damage than the opponent takes the damage.
ShinobiPhoenix - 2009/09/22 09:37 - link

@TheD

No, it's the other way around.

The person who activated Change Destiny either takes a little damage or nothing at all.
The opponent of the person who activates Change Destiny will heal or nothing at all.

The opponent choose the effect, that does NOT change the perspective of who activated it.

Activating The Dark Deal will make you discard, but from the perspective that your opponent is making you do it. You still activated the card, but in that case, it changes the magic card used by your opponent. It's your card and you are discarding, but it's being caused by your opponent (sort of). You are the opponent of the controller of the Magic card that was changed.

Eh, Daemon Chaos King alone won't put Fiends back on top...

Daemon Chaos King (Synchro)
Dark/Fiend/7/2600/2600
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Monsters
When this card attacks a monster, switch the ATK and DEF strength of that monster until the end of the Damage Step.

...nothing THAT special overall. (Paleozoic Fossil Dragon - Skullgeoth had that effect too + trample.) Honest would still beat it with Lightlords anyway. Chances are it'd require a Fiend-Type Tuner and/or Fiend-Type non-Tuners as materials.

I could see this along with Splendid Rose, Rose Bird, and Deformer Cleanen in ABPF though too because of Drill Warrior.

Re: Daemon Chaos King

I'm pretty sure DCK's effect is "swap the ATK and DEF of ALL monsters", and with DCK having the exact same DEF and ATK, he'd pretty much be unaffected.
Then you'd be set to abuse your opponent with your high-DEF (LOL - "HD") monsters like Daemon Soldier or whatever.

Place your bets. Monster slots and what you want from Magic and Traps.

There is potentially one slot between Moonlight Dragon Quilla and Treasure of Harmony (Drill Warrior is 041 and Treasure is 045). Daemon Chaos King is less likely because we already have a Jack Synchro, so my hope is Splendid Rose, but it's likely to be the one non-Anime Synchro in the set.

Absolute Powerforce Spoilers: 10/17/09: Anime OCG Cards Revealed

So Inti and Quila are confirmed in this set- both of which are Synchro Monsters (Quila is Level 6). Now I wonder if their effects, especially Quila, will be the same as in the anime?
For Godwin, we have the majority of his monsters (except the Dark Tuner) in addition to a new spell/trap as well as Sacrifice of Honor and Meteor Prominence. Looking forward to the latter two. Hopefully the new spell and trap, as well as the two other monsters, are good.
Now for Misty's cards. Bad End Queen Dragon becoming an OCG card? So in the anime it requires three Continuous Spell Cards to summon it (due to the Sad Story- Bad Chain trap card). Will Sad Story cards even be present? Hell, I'd rather summon Hamon with the three Continuous Spells.
Reptiless Servant and Gardna, as well as Reptiless Anger, make OCG appearances from the anime. They may have the same effects as in the anime. There are two others- Reptiless Naja and Reptiless Vasuki. There are also two other cards- Viper Reborn and Snake Choke- both of which may support reptile monsters (like Cobra's cards did) and not just direct Reptilless support cards.

ShinobiPhoenix - 2009/10/17 16:21 - link

Bad End Queen Dragon never needed the Sad Story cards

I'm just commenting on the note about not expecting the Sad Story cards since Bad End "no longer" needs them, when she never needed them in the first place, even in the anime. She just couldn't be Normal Summoned or Set.

I for one am glad to never see them, rather have the Queen Dragon as it was without the Sad Story crap.

Absolute Powerforce Spoilers: 10/17/09, Part 2: Godwin's New Theme

Sun Dragon Inti requires Red Ant Azcati as its Tuner. Moon Dragon Quila requires Supay as its Tuner. Great...
Priest of the Sun has the same effect as in the anime except than when it is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can add "Supay" or "Red Ant Azcati" from your Deck to your Hand.
Godwin's new spell card, Altar of the Sun, all face-up monster(s) you control that were Special Summoned from the Graveyard gain 300 ATK.
Godwin's new trap card, Call of the Death God, Special Summons "Supay" or "Red Ant Azcati" from your Graveyard when a monster you control is Special Summoned from the Graveyard.
Apotecatequil allows its Level to be treated as 5 if you control a Tuner, which allows you to summon Inti (Red Ant Azcati= 3+5=8) or Quila (Supay= 1+5=6). This theme just got somewhat better.

EDIT:
The dragons are officially NERFED. Inti inflicts half the damage it would have in the anime. Also, its effect of reducing its ATK to 0 is not present. With 3000 ATK, rarely anything can destroy it through battle, so the effect is kinda useless. When Quilla is an attack target, you gain LP equal to HALF the attack of the opposing monster. Wow, how useful... At least they have decent ATK and synergy (so they won't be fully destroyed).

To sum things up, Godwin's monsters have a theme of special summon/swarm from the Graveyard to summon Inti or Quila. Godwin's other monsters need to have effects to support special summon from the Graveyard. Unfortunately, CoSR is banned.

TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/10/17 17:48 - link

Absolute Powerforce Spoilers: 10/17/09, Part 3: Card Effects/Numbers

Bad End Queen Dragon is the 14th card so there are 7 anime monster cards used by other major characters (i.e. Crow, Aki, Rua, Ruka). Cards 15-16 are the two Reptiless monsters in the anime- Servant and Gardna- and have the same effects as in the anime (unconfirmed at the moment).
Cards 17-18 are the two new Reptiless monsters. Reptiless Naja is Level 1, cannot be destroyed in battle, and decreases the ATK of any monster that battles it to 0 (it is switched from face-up Defense to face-up Attack Position). Reptiless Vasuki is Level 8.
Cards 20-23 are all Godwin's cards. Red Ant Azcatl Special Summons a Level 5 monster in your Graveyard when destroyed in battle while Supay summons "Priest of the Sun" when destroyed by a card effect. Their effects are negated.
Reptiless Anger keeps the same effect as in the anime. Viper Reborn special summons a non-tuner monster in your Graveyard if all monsters in your Graveyard are Reptile-Type. It is destroyed during the End Phase.

Advance Force makes me happy! lol

The other new stuff is cool too and I'll have fun testing provided they turn out to be confirmed later.

SynjoDeonecros - 2009/10/17 23:06 - link

Considering the sheer amount of high-level monsters you can get out with ease, this card is definitely cool. Definitely makes summoning cards like Felgrand Dragon out, easier.

I'm still waiting for them to make a refined version of Ancient Rules, like something that lets you summon level 5 or higher Normal monsters with a certain stat cap without tribute or something.
SynjoDeonecros - 2009/10/17 23:19 - link

...Piano Tuner's Conspiracy? Piano Tuner's Conspiracy? Okay, so it's a Synchro Stealing card, but still, PIANO TUNER'S CONSPIRACY?! Is this related to the Milkman's Conspiracy from Psychonauts, or something? I just...What? What? I'm sorry, I just can't get over how utterly stupid that card name is. It's as bad as Every Sperm is...er, I mean The Tiniest Seed Matters. I seriously hope they change that in the TCG.

The other cards are rather "meh" to me; Advanced Force is a bit interesting, and Viper Revive looks interesting, but beyond that, I'm not seeing anything that really jumps out at me.

Advance Force will be very, very fun for me. Plenty of (original) Level 5+ monsters (The Tricky, Cyber Dragon, Vice Dragon, Priest of the Sun, Metal Reflect Slime, Yubel, etc, etc) and the Level 7+ monsters to get out will be fun too. A 1 Tribute Gandora, lol. Or other things like Gilford the Legend and things that can't be Special Summoned to make Tribute Summoning easier.

Too bad, like with other cards like Mausoleum and such, it most likely won't work on the 3 Devils (Dreadroot, Avatar, Eraser) and won't let you bypass things like Gilford the Lightning, Moisture Creature, or Barbaros.

And Viper Reborn is also fun for, obviously, Reptiless-based Decks, but also for Venom Decks. Special Summon Venominion, it dies at the end of the turn, spring Descent of the Snake Lord, Venominaga go! lol Or for something as simple as Offerings of Poisonous Snake since it'll die anyway.
Scion of the Flames (guest) - 2009/10/23 01:09 - link

What's wrong with The Tiniest Seed Matters? It's better than the literal "Bamboo Scraps". Aint you ever seen Fern Gully? Of course even Horton Hears A Who spells out how even the smallest one can be significant.

MOON DRAGON QUILA & SUN DRAGON INTI

Anyone have a perceived value on these two? Are they going to be chase cards? Please let me know. I want to make a deck around each like Godwins, especially for Moon Dragon Quila. Thanks!

Ritual cards

Can anyone please Post a detailed picture on this site scans of the cards from the magazine in this set? #1 when i saw them up earlyer then were poor pictures, and #2 the images arn't displaying anymore. I plan to proxy out a ritual deck and need just the picture in the square of the card, not the whole card itself so i can upload it on cardmaker. So far the only pictures ive been able to find are the same ones of the magazine curved and warped with text over it and its very small... If someone has the magazine and can take a straight picture that i can crop the image from that'd be amazing. I'll even provide an email address to send them to if you guys can give it to me. Thanks alot in advance.

RE: Gravekeeper's High Priest

A new Gravekeeper card? I am sure those who are playing Gravekeeper Theme Deck will be rejoiced. Have a simple yet decent effect, especially by discarding 1 "Gravekeeper" monster to prevent its destruction by battle or effect. I am also glad that there will 3 to 4 supports of Gravekeepers, maybe they will boost the other previous Archetypes too!

Although Rex Godwin's cards are limited, but just alone these cards and Undead World can have the potential of forming a decent deck. I may be interested in building it! :) Thanks HalfDemonInuyasha for sharing this idea!

Overall, Absolute Powerforce is still one of the best sets. (and yes, those 3 vehicles used by Yusei are not useless, they are workable)

Edit: Comment edited due to the correct info provided by Shriek on High Priest's effect.

w...t...f...

gravekeeper... rly now... seems... random.

it doesn't suit the description in the box, and the number on it seems weird. if there would be some harpy, legendary ocean-reliant, sanctuary in the sky thing similar to those field searchers b4 in FOTB... then I'd sort of believe that

HalfDemonInuyasha (guest) - 2009/10/28 19:26 - link

reply

Actually, it does sort of make sense when you consider all the Graveyard Special Summoning effects of Godwin's cards. Gravekeeper's and Necrovalley are pretty much the natural counter to such effects. ((Since most of them target a card(s) in the Graveyard, Necrovalley will negate them.)) At least this answers my prayer of at least 1 support card for an older family.

Anyway, Gravekeeper's High Priest is pretty standard, but good for Gravekeeper's and its Summoning requirement and effects work in tandem with eachother. By itself, it'll start off with 2200 ATK (2000 + the Tributed Gravekeeper's monster) and with its substitution effect, that's another +200 ATK each time. And its Special Summon is optional, so you could still snatch it back with a Tribute Summoned Gravekeeper's Chief too or, with Chief on the field anyway, use Cry of the Living Dead on it and such.

Descendant is pretty standard. It's nice that you can get it with Spy and Rite of Spirit though as well as Killer Tomato.

Lithograph is also very nice too. Finally, some (more) decent support for Gravekeeper's. Hopefully Konami will (eventually) do the same for other, older families.
Scion of the Flames (guest) - 2009/10/29 22:41 - link

Well, we can always hope. First Spirits in TDGS (even though most of it isn't that good), now Gravekeeper's (even though it's killing 2 birds with 1 stone; support for an existing Decktype + counters one of the big themes of the Set). I guess depending on where the meta goes after this is out.

I'm actually surprised we didn't get at least Pegasus's new stuff when he Dueled in GX; Toon Kingbom, Shadow Toon, Comic Hand, Toon Suitcase, and the revamped Doppleganger.

I love the umi support and nice pshycic support. And i expically love the new cyber dragon and we needed it because cyber dragon is limited and cyber proto sucks. And its a decent good pack. The only thing i dont like is saber hole or something. Damn that card is broken as hell. When you control a x saber you can negate the normal summon, flip summon or special summon and destroy it. Damn thats broken. If it only was kill then it would be okay and the other player could use priority and it would be fair. But damn. :p

Absolute Powerforce Spoilers: 11/10/09: Set Review

Rather than make some long rant, I will post the cards that I feel are worth something. One of the best sets I have seen in a long time. There is (good) support for almost any older archetype. Anime spells/traps make up for the majority of the anime monsters.
- Drill Synchron (this card definitely beats out Meteorain)
- Bloody-Teared Ogre
- Battle Fader
- Rose Sprite (only because of recent Plant support from last year)
- Black Rose Witch
- Bad End Queen Dragon (for Crystal beast Decks)
- Reptiless Naja
- Reptiless Vasuki
- Priest of the Sun (only because of its special summon effect, the "Unlimited" Cyber Dragon sort to speaks. Could care less about Incan theme).
- Apocatequil (the only REAL support in summoning Inti or Quila)
- Informer Spider
- Koa'ki Meiru monster
- XX Saber Galsem
- Gravekeeper's High Priest/Descendant (two cards that we so desperately wanted for GK)
- Shretsudder (Machines are plentiful)
- Pandaborg (This card literally makes Doctor Cranium obselete at the same LP cost)
- Godalos (there is just so much freakin Umi support. Definitely recommended in an Umi Deck)
- Holy Light (FTW!!!)
- Gundari (more Synchro hate and a GOOD Spirit monster this time around)
- Cyber Dragon Zwei (this FINALLY solves the problem of not being able to summon Cyber Dragon fusion monsters with CD being Limited).
- Oilman (Only one Union card in this set? Well, having the equipped monster draw a card when it destroys anything in better makes it better than about 92% of all currently existing Union monsters).
- Ritual Devil Enchanter (because there is just so much Synchro Hate to spread around. And this is one of the best cards to do it).
- Ritual Devil Precogster
- Garandolph, Devil King of Destruction
- Savior Demon's Dragon (give it props for being cover card and strongest Synchro monster in the OCG/TCG).
- Drill Warrior
- Sun Dragon Inti/Moon Dragon Quilla
- XX-Saber Synchro Monster (three Spell/Traps and this thing's Level 6?! Please don't tell me this is some fluke!)
- Harmony's Treasure (any card with drawing power is good. Dragunity support)
- Reptilless Anger
- Advance Force
- Viper Reborn (ultimate Reptile support)
- Rocket Pielder
- Break Draw (as if machines didn't have enough drawpower through Oilman)
- Power Pickaxe
- Spider Field (this makes running Spiders worth it)
- Iron Core Synthetic Beast Research Lab (if anything, this provides Koa'ki Meiru with the search power they needed).
- Gravekeeper's Lithograph (The fact that this is GK support alone)
- Machine Developer (again, machines are plentiful. This makes running machine archetypes with low ATK values easier).
- Ritual of Destruction
- Subliming Soul (good Ritual support)
- Ritual Cage (great Ritual support)
- Pot of Selfishness
- Synchro Control (more Synchro hate)
- Change Destiny
- Demon's Chain (about everything these days is Effect Monster)
- Reflect Nature (something good came out of the anime the past few months)
- Snake Choke
- Meteor Prominence
- Sacrifice of Honor (Jibakushin support)
- Destruct Potion
- Call of the Death God (even if both monsters are crap, they are still required to summon Inti and Quila).
- Liar Wire (one of the best Insect support cards)
- Core Blast (A card that makes up for Koa'ki Meiru's lack of staying power)
- Saber Hole (when will X-Sabers stop getting good cards?)
- Machine King- B.C. 3000
- Alien Brain (even if this isn't direct Alien support. Reptiless, Alien, Venom, and especially Worm can run this card.)
- Forgotten Underwater Temple (again we have a "Umi" card)
- Conspiracy of the Tuning Mentor (best Synchro hate in this set)
- Curse Psychic (this card needed for those weak psychics)
- Land Mine Dud (pure awesome)

JAboi (guest) - 2009/11/11 00:10 - link

Shouldn't Spider Field be "Once per turn, you can select 1 face-up Insect-Type monster you control. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, opponent's monsters that battle with the selected monster are changed to Defense Position at the End of the Battle Phase, and their Battle Positions cannot be changed." since your opponent can't attack him/herself?
draconic (guest) - 2009/11/11 01:00 - link

Woah

This set is going to be insane. There are so many great cards.

DivineVictory - 2009/11/11 18:04 - link

Im saving...

For 8 boxes hopefully...as long as the Econ doesn't take another dive....>_<
SavrCosmicFighter - 2009/11/11 03:22 - link

X-Sabers made me very happy ..Galsem, Saber Hole and XX-Saber Synchro FTW lol

KKM impressed me as well..i'm glad i still have my cards (all of them)

DivineVictory - 2009/11/11 09:29 - link

And to think....

People laughed at me when I said I wanted to run X-sabers

Now who's laughing!?!?!?!

Stupid Basterds!

ren - 2009/11/11 09:40 - link

galsem

omg! X-Saber now has a great searcher!! Finally I can get Faultroll to my hand easily
levi15791 (guest) - 2009/11/11 11:21 - link

X-Sabers

I will add a greater review of the set later but I want to evaluate the 3 new X-Saber support

Firstly,
XX-Saber Galsem
EARTH/Beast - Effect/4/1400/400
When this card on the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, you can add 1 "X-Saber" monster from your deck to your hand. This card gains 200 ATK for each face-up "X-Saber" monster you control.
Rare

This is a good card for the archetype. Although this may just look like a beat stick at first, when combo'd with saber slash or destroyed by a card effect you can search your deck for ANY X-Saber monser, including Faultroll. This will make the deck more consistant as you can get the combo pieces faster.

Secondly, the synchro dude,

XX-Saber (???)
(???)/(???) - Synchro - Effect/6/2300/(???)
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner "X-Saber" monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can destroy up to 3 Magic or Trap Cards on the field.
Ultra/Ultimate Rare

Although this cards name and stats are unknown, the effect of this is great, the summoning conditions for this are slightly difficult, as currently there is no lvl 3 x-saber non tuner -monsters (for usage with most common tuner airbellum), or you will have to run passuil and either a galsem, galahad, uruz or anu piranha. At least we get a lvl 6 saber synchro.

Finally Saber Hole,

Saber Hole
Counter Trap Card
Activate only if you control a face-up "X-Saber" monster. Negate the Normal Summon, Flip Summon or Special Summon of a monster and destroy it.

This card makes X-Sabers amazingly good, as the ability to negate the opponents summon is amazing. This gets rid of your opponents monsters and maintains your field presence. Good card is Good.

Overall the x-sabers have a further push towards being tier one, they are only missing a couple of cards that deal with consistancy issues, then its a totally different ball game.
DivineVictory - 2009/11/11 18:01 - link

I completely agree....sadly though

Saber haters are coming. I can see it now...*sigh*

"WTF YOUR SABERZ R SO GAY! THEY GET CARDZ THAT CAN NEGATE THE SUMMONZ OF ANYTHING! THATZ SO BROKEN"

Everytime something good comes out for another archtype someone gotta take a dump all over it just because they think its gonna make the deck unstoppable or something...and we have all done it, in our duelist carees at least once
Jaboi (guest) - 2009/11/11 19:40 - link

For anyone testing this set or wants to, I have it for YVD. Currently testing Levia, Insects and X-Sabers.

Jaboi (guest) - 2009/11/12 03:10 - link

Actually the trap card only counts while face-up on the field so you now have 6 Umi.
