Don't Be Surprised

Five new cards, including a new Synchro monster played by Yusei.

This is definitely the cover card. Probably another "Warrior" Synchro monster (Hyper Warrior or the WATER/EARTH "Warriors"). And if the latter ones, they'll probably include its Synchron form. Of course, I COULD be wrong.

Haplo - 2008/11/29 06:44

Maybe if were lucky it'll have some DT cards and then we'll get them in this.
danierulynx - 2008/11/29 21:35

TheDarkAngelRocket - Moreso than you think. Don't expect a 'Hyper Warrior'. Hyper Synchron wasn't another member of the line of Yusei's other Synchrons, it was simply a miscellaneous all-purpose Tuner. If there were to be a Hyper Warrior then we would've seen it by now.

Haplo - That would be rather nice, although sadly, I'm not gonna' get my hopes up. Best do that for the Gold Series instead, as it already has Brionac in it, =D
lord horus (guest) - 2008/11/29 12:25

I just hope the new synchro card will be arms aid

Haplo - 2008/11/29 17:55

Why? Arms Aid is in the Duelist Pack Yusei. We'll be getting it in the TCG as well. So, well, it won't be a new card, and most likely won't be in here.
FilipGX (guest) - 2008/11/29 12:39

I hope the extra 3 cards are all Synchro Monsters. :)
Maybe they said 1 Synchro monster, because only 1 of the 3 Synchro M. included in this deck is played by Yusei (just like Junk Warrior in the last SD).

danierulynx - 2008/11/29 21:38

Well, the Deck's blurb doesn't say that there's only 1 Synchro Monster in the Deck. It just says that there's a Synchro Monster in it played by Yusei, so yes, it's almost certain that there will be 2 other Synchro Monsters in the Deck...

... at least it would be, if it wasn't for the fact that it's ABSOLUTELY certain. Check out the size of the Deck - 43 cards. No Starter/Structure Deck is EVER over 40 cards. Those that have have only been so because they included Side and/or Extra Decks. So this Deck is guaranteed to have an Extra Deck of 3 cards.
Chaotically Random (guest) - 2008/11/30 20:15

Synchros,

Odds are we'll see what ever they might be in the anime,

Kaostheory - 2008/11/30 22:19

It would be sweet if they added stardust dragon/assault mode

DarkDragonphoenix (guest) - 2008/12/27 13:15

SDD/AM

Are you..a bit curious?
Do you think they put a card in a SD which can't be summoned?? Or are you dreaming they put Stardust in???

Busters are stupid! You need the Synchro, you need a set Assault Mode(you have to wait a turn!), AND you can't summon /AM monsters from your hand :-( :@

I hope they put in:
Hyper W. (A little dream, I know :D)
Explode Wind D. (Why not?)
Another Synchro Dragon...

Greets from Switzerland,

Bye.

Yusei (guest) - 2009/01/20 01:14

To: DarkDragonphoenix

ehh...busters arent stupid...if u noe how to make a buster deck you can synchro summon the monster you want a.s.a.p or during your first turn...and if u dont noe... buster deck is faster than normal synchro decks...
yugiohtw (guest) - 2009/02/02 15:08

To: Yusei

busters aren't stupid, but they are slower than normal synchro-ing
with the release of dark dive bomber tele DAD can OTK almost 9/10 times
usually with busters, they are strong well only Stardust Dragon Assault, but too easily getten rid of. getting 2 on the first turn is no problem, which creates a lock, but usually opponents will find ways to get rid of it. and to DARKDRAGONPHOENIX busters are powerful as the synchro can attack first and then activate assault mode to attack again with the assault mode.
TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/01/18 04:35

X-Sabers

Assuming that the Konami-Upper Deck feud will end, then this might be a chance for people in the states to get the X-Sabers.
I have some hope for this deck, since the X-Sabers will be in here. Possibly we might have the other Duel Terminal archetypes.

Akira (guest) - 2009/02/05 15:59

Road Synchron and Road Warrior are awesome.Art is cool and really good effests, we also get another Level 4 Tuner. It can give you a fine control over Synchro Summoning, and with Synchron you can fetch Tuning Supporters, Necro Gardnas,Speed Warrior etc.
Willpower of The Weak Ones- it is card that has some potential maybe with that Magic Card next to it.Also we have X-Saber Call Of The Haunted.

RedArchfiend (guest) - 2009/02/05 16:07

These new cards are totally crazy!!!
That X-Saber Call Of The Haunted is waay powerful- use Rescue Cat, summon X-Saber beasts, Synchro then that trap,Synchro again.....
New Warrior and Synchro are awesome, art too.Road Synchron-Cool! Gives you more suitable monsters to Synchro, I think it it is better than Hyper Synchron
Road Warrior-search Tuning Supporter, Cyber Vary,Speed Warrior,Necro Gardna, or Release it for Turret warrior and get attack boost.

Kaostheory - 2009/02/05 23:05

yeah but there is no other x saber lvl 3 so that stops lvl 6 combo rescue cat but it works well x saber wayne with its special summon ability
DarkDragonphoenix (guest) - 2009/02/06 12:46

TO: yugiohtw / Yusei

Busters/Assault Modes are the stupidiest cards EVER!

You can't:
-summon them from your hand
-use them the first turn

You have to:
-Synchro summon the required monster
-set AM Activate
-wait a round

They are/have:
-slower to use
-stupider
-only 500 boost
-only one useful /AM, Stardust/AM

I HATE THEM! Because:
-For Doomkaiser, you have to play a Zombie deck
-For Hyper Psychic, you have to play a Psychic deck
-For Colossal, you have to play a Warrior deck
-For Arcanite, you have to play a Spellcaster deck

Only Stardust/AM and Red Dragons/AM are really usefull

Only positive thing:
You can summon their required Synchro if they get destroyd...

Now, who still thinks they are usefull?!?

And, did you ever heard about English grammar? You noe = YOU >>K N O W<< !!!

DDP

EvilAzn - 2009/02/06 14:49

Agreed. However...

they are powerful once they hit the field. They have cards like Buster Counter and Assault Slash which are pretty devastating. Plus, Re-Buster could be worthwhile in that you could summon an incredibly strong 3500 ATK monster with a low cost.

But, then again. Buster Mode is a chore to activate and again, there is only one worthwhile /Buster to summon. Plus, so many freaken cards just to summon one card. A single Compulsory Evacuation Device or Phoenix Wing Wing Blast could destroy all you hard work.

If they didn't need Buster Mode, this set could be decent but, with the flaws it carries it won't be a reliable deck.
HalfDemonInuyasha (guest) - 2009/02/09 04:47

reply

Did you ever stop to think that maybe...just maybe...the /Buster monsters are made the way they are for something called BALANCE???

You can't:

-summon them from your hand (Big deal. From the Deck is good enough for me. And it's not like there aren't ways of putting them back.)

-use them the first turn (So? Not every big card must be some ultra-powerful, super-easy-to-Summon monster that can be gotten out with the snap of one's fingers.)

You have to:

-Synchro summon the required monster (Big deal. Easy to do.)

-set AM Activate (So? )

-wait a round (Black-Winged Magician is supposed to help around that)

They are/have:

-slower to use (Stardust Dragon/Buster would like a word with you. Easily able to be gotten out by at least the 2nd turn)

-stupider (How so? Besides not being all DAD-like, unable to be splashed in virtually every Deck, and such)

-only 500 boost (The Synchros are high enough as it is. +500 makes them able to run over pretty much anything used in today's game. They wouldn't even NEED the 500 ATK boost given their effects, so this is really a negligable "downside")

-only one useful /AM, Stardust/AM (Wrong)

I HATE THEM! Because:

-For Doomkaiser, you have to play a Zombie deck
-For Hyper Psychic, you have to play a Psychic deck
-For Colossal, you have to play a Warrior deck
-For Arcanite, you have to play a Spellcaster deck

For all: Which is GOOD because that makes them UNABLE to be super-splashable in tons of Decks nor could one simply tweak their Deck slightly to be able to use them like you could with DAD, Chaos, etc. Again, don't expect things to be like that all the time.

"Only Stardust/AM and Red Dragons/AM are really usefull"

....wrong...Red Daemon's Dragon/Buster isn't even really used. Stardust Dragon/Buster and Death Kaiser Dragon/Buster are the big ones used.

The /Buster monsters aren't supposed to be used in their own Decktype anyways. They're merely extensions of their Synchro counterparts with some support to further extend from the /Buster monster. They're simply there to use if one wishes to in some way and they're NOT hard to use (in their proper Decktype) once you start working on it. One doesn't HAVE to use them, but they're there as an option for those who would like to try them out. And it would also help if one actually tried them out (seriously) instead of judging them based on looking at them from the outside. One would be surprised at how evil they can be (in their respective Decktypes for some) like Death Kaiser Dragon/Buster. That thing is just OVERKILL in a Zombie Deck.
Rose_Knight (guest) - 2009/02/16 08:51

Assult/Buster Modes

Not actually, most synchros are splashable. There are a few exceptions, such as Doomkaiser or Revived Ruler Ha Des, but stuff such as Colossal Fighter are very much splashable. If Colossal Fighter dies, he can target himself for revival (Unless rulings have changed for him). As per this starter deck, ANY clue when this is coming to TCG? I dont really care about most of those cards, I just want the Road Warrior/Synchron and Beast Tuner. Everything else is just mehish. Really, I dont want the Beast Tuner all that much either, truth be told. Road Warrior and his tuner are all I need for Calculator OTK.
RedArchfiend (guest) - 2009/02/06 15:14

Yes 7Busters are good best one are Stardust Red Demons and Deathkaiser Busters but they require too much resources and i am fraid that opponent can blow them up with the removal from field, also Busters in your hand can be dead draws, except with Zombie Carrier but is there non siuational card thatt returns them to Deck?Good Goblin Houskeeping?
Satrdust one is the best, but it can still be easily negated with some cards.
1-They can be dead draws
2-They are weak on non field removal like Phienix wind Blast,Brionac etc.
But positives are
1-Beatsticks
2-Powerful effects
But they require Synchro monsters and Buster Mode .It can be very slow. You need to wait and make a strategy not to draw Busters, add quickly Buster mode and keep not being countered easily. They are good and at some time not so much.

Too much resources? Only, technically, 1 extra card (since the /Buster comes from your Deck) and that's Buster Mode along with the (usually) 2 monsters you use for the Synchro Summon of the Synchro Monster.

And would the opponent WANT to blow them up? Especially considering the good it'll do since you'll just get back the Synchro anyways. And in terms of ones like Stardust Dragon and Death Kaiser Dragon, it would be like having to deal with almost 2 copies of the /Buster anyways (slightly lower, but still a nusiance). Their only chance at not springing them would be not "destroying" them in any way, "destroying" them in the middle of a chain (since they can miss the timing), or outright negating their effect when they attempt to Special Summon; both of which there aren't a whole lot of methods of doing. (That people use anyways.)

Anyways, besides Zombie Carrier and Goblin Management Expert, there's Reload, Magical Mallet, Card Trader (underrated, IMO) or, even more situational, Lighten the Load. Or you could use it as discard fodder, then use something like Prediction of Reincarnation/The Transmigration Prophecy or something to slip it back into your Deck.

"Stardust one is the best, but it can still be easily negated with some cards."

Which there are very few of. 1 D. D. Crow usually, Stardust Dragon (or another Stardust Dragon/Buster) and perhaps a Divine Wrath or, for Gladial Beasts, Gladial Beast Chariot. Otherwise, the chances of it being negated aren't very high, which is why it's been able to thrive quite well.

"1-They can be dead draws
2-They are weak on non field removal like Phienix wind Blast,Brionac etc."

Still, that's why there are other cards one can try out for both methods like Buster Counter and whatnot.

Well, the Synchros alone are usually beatsticks, lol and the effects are definitely nice when used properly. Requiring a Synchro Monster is really not as big as people make it out to be and it's not like you're forced to wait until your own turn to use Buster Mode (and it's not like an opponent will always get rid of it on that same turn if you use it during their turn). And the strategy is what the other supporters are as well ^^
Akira (guest) - 2009/02/09 23:03

Evil Azn, I agree with your opinion.
Busters work very well in their decks and they are amde not to be splashable. But unfortunately, some of today's players are simply hungry for BROKEN and SPLASHABLE cards that can be so abused and OTK opponent creating unfair advantage:DAD, Diabolicguy,Zombie Carrier.
People always complained on other Tuners like Hyper Synchron,Dark Repairer,Junk Synchron or Debris Dragon being trashy , bad crads that are the worst ones and situational.POINT IS THAT THERE SI A DIFFERENCE:
DAD,Diabolicguy,Zombie carrier- SPALSHABLE in any Dark Deck
Debris Dragon,Hyper Synchron,Dark reapirer-NOT SPLAHABLE AND REQUIRE THEIR DECK.
Simply people have lust towards broken and splashable, thinking tnat everything else is trash simply cuase it is not splashable or broken.Debris Dragon has terrible restrictions, yes but in right deck it shines.Plants being example where it turns in +1 with COSR and can be instant Black rose dragon with low ATK plants.Good player looks potential in every card.Sadly this meta promotes:SPLASHABLE,BROKEN,EXPENSIVE AND OTK.
Busters also being mostly underrated because of the latter reasons
Little Stardust, Debris dragon works well in its own deck and also Hyper Synchron and rest. They need specific deck not ,,spalsh and instantly win,,.Debris Dragon H.S, are examples that Synchroing is much harder than looks with teleport,Diabolicguy etc.People simply forgot it in this lust.
Busters anad rest underrated ( before rescue cat and look it now!)wait for their hidden potential be unleashed...

TheDarkAngelRocket - 2009/02/18 01:53

Starter Deck 2009

So Powered Tuner is the fifth and last card? Epic win.
Level 4 tuner, 1900 ATK (through its effect), dragon.

Yilx (guest) - 2009/02/25 14:34

it's not a tuner
FilipGX (guest) - 2009/02/25 10:36

If Junk Warrior is in the deck, there must be Junk Tuner in it too.

ryuzaki (guest) - 2009/03/02 13:57

yusei

the third synchro cards is the x-saber synchro

DarkDragonphoenix (guest) - 2009/03/04 12:06

WHAT?

Where do you know that from?
That's the stupidiest idea I ever heard from!
I hope they add something really good, like Armory Arm, or Nitro Warrior...
OR: They make "Hyper Warrior"
These would be to get much more easier than it is...I hate rare cards, especially if they(UDE) force a simply rare card to an UR, like PSZ or LFH, I hate it!!!

I'd like to see the Buster from Mental Sphere Daemon:
3200/2800/10/Psychic/DARK
Effect:
Summon only by Assault Mode Aktivate, bla,bla...
You can also send MSD ans AAM from your field to the grave, to summon this card from the hand.
Pay 800 Life Points to negate the activation of a Spell/Trap/Effectmonster effect, a summon or a set and remove that card from game.
When this card is removed from the field, Special Summon a MSD from your Graveyard by paying 1000 LP.

What do you think about this? -Okay, it's a bit overpowered *LOL*

I hope the SD '09 includes also:
-Hyper Synchron
-Debris Dragon
-Tuning Ware
-Fortress Warrior
-Turret Warrior
and so on, and so on, but these are dreams...
CKD (guest) - 2009/03/06 03:39

I think this is a very strong structure deck. Better than the last one.

Ryuzaki (guest) - 2009/03/06 13:21

The Truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

X-saber Is The Third Synchro Cards

Wakkowolf (guest) - 2009/03/10 19:43

Tuningware

Tuningware is definitely welcome. It immensely helps Road Synchron bust out its Warrior counterpart. The deck as it is doesn't have a very good way of getting 2 level 2 or level 3 and level 1 monsters out at the same time to be followed up with a Road Synchron. The only thing I can see so far is Bolt Hedgehog and Limit Reverse.
